For me the end all be all was Gary Old's F4, the Flying Tiger p40 Warhawk, and my 2nd fav of ww2 the P-38 Lightning. Sadly there was no gull wing F4U Corsair, I guess you got to go to Pensecola for that. The P61 Black Widow was one I was not familiar with but absolutely wicked cool plane. I may have to try doing some model planes again, but I dunno when I'll have time. I miss it though, one of my fav childhood hobbies.

The P61 Moonlight Serenade was a bad lil B****.

The P38 just looks bad azz sitting still!! What I would give for a ride!!
I was also looking for a Corsair....it also dawned on me that it was a Navy Plane. My Dad was in the South Pacific and a pharmacy mate. He had a buddy that would take him for a ride in a Corsair.

If you hear a corsair at an airshow it is so distinctive. Just has an awesome growl that to me is what a ww2 fighter is supposed to sound like.

Fall Football isn't quite the same without my father in law. We had the best time talking SEC trash in innuendo. Some of the best times I have ever had watching games was with a Bama die hard by this VFL's side. Miss ya.

Interestingly as my wife has been going through his closets and things we keep finding hidden Vol Gear, not just hats but banners, and posters and stuff....lol I think truth be told he did root for the Vols more than he admitted.

But I also have an asortment pics from games that confuse me, mostly because I was hammered, and people I seem to know but I have no recollection of who they are. Tina being about the only one I recognise. Anyone know? I used to run into Endzone/Underground people then sometimes they'd sit in my section and say hi or watch 2nd half as most people had left in disgust as empty seats were more available in that era. I have deduced most of my others but these are all a mystery.

Damn I miss those seats.....I gave em up During COVID recovery. I regret that, but I had been on ogygen for almost a year and wasn't sure I'd ever get to be back.

Yup I still see her post stuff from time to time on FB she seems to be doing well, she's a nurse now. I also just realized I still have Barret on my phone. (sigh) He was one of the ones who'd come visit our seats at half time now and then. You had to be evil not to like that kid. Speaking of old guard, what happened to Jay (tex)? and Vif?

Don't know about Tex.

Haven't talked to VIF in a while but last time I did he was doing well. Diane his wife had some kind of health issues that were kind of serious but was doing good from my understanding.

Well I'd say we miss him, but not sure I am around enough to qualify that, but good to hear he's doing well. KInda surprised Tex isn't around......makes me suspicious there's another secret Vol forum base around here somewhere.
