It's going to be a long drive, but worth it. We're leaving tomorrow night, and we'll get into San Antonio Thursday sometime. Hope to see the Alamo, and have dinner somewhere on the river walk. Then we pick him up on base at 6am Friday morning. Driving most of the day, then staying overnight in Mississippi (I just can't do bama). Then home on Saturday.

If you like movies, may I suggest the Alamo Draft House on 410. You can watch a movie (new or old), have a full meal, dessert and drink right from your movie theatre seat.

Thanks Smith! His wife (our daughter-in-law) is the most excited of course. But I'm just stupid happy. He's actually my step-son. But he's one of the most amazing souls I've ever had the honor of having in my life.

Sorry to get off track in the thread.

Is that in that same area? Downtown? (I don't know anything other than what I find on the internet.) We're not gonna have as much time as I'd like.

Not really near downtown. Maybe twenty minutes or so out. Towards the Medina Gate of Lackland AFB. It may be too out of the way if you're only gonna be there a couple days.

Ah, gotcha. Just looked at their website. That looks totally cool! We're really only gonna be in town one night. We pick him up at 6am on Friday. :dance2:

BUT...he's going to Fort Riley next, so we might could hit the one in Kansas City, MO on our way there to see him. Something to keep in mind, anyway.

I have very few things in life that I know. American cities (based on a lot of work travel), baseball, and flying. Outside of those three things, I just b.s. my way through life.
