The Tennessee Excavation & Hauling Company
With Vols offensive line expected to be significantly improved, the TVA or a decent facsimile of it might be back. If that is indeed so, they should excavate the tenches well enough for the hauling trucks to haul the rocks to the heaping pile with regularity. And here’s how I think it happens.
Chandler and Gray will spot each other during most of the downfield march. I see them biting off serious chunks of yardage. In the red zone, I think the Vols will call in the heavy-duty trucks, Whitehead and Hodge because CJP isn’t afraid to play freshmen. However, we will likely see Jordan and Banks in that role as well. Plus, we need to stop leaving points on the field during red-zone visits. Our WRs are just good enough to penalize teams that load up the box to stop the run. This, along with the improved OL will be why our running game will show marked improvement. I’ll stick my neck farther out and proclaim our Vols will morph into a strong running team with just enough of an aerial attack to punish teams that fail to play both the run and the pass. And yes, JG will be just good enough to make that a reality, much as this claim peeves his doubters big time. The excavating bulldozers and road graders, and the resultant efficiency of the rock haulers will make a difference in JG’s game on the positive side. Plus, he knows this is his do or die year. It will indeed be a season of strange sights as yet unseen.
