The WRASSLIN’ Thread

Nikolai Volkoff passed away at the age of 70 this morning. RIP.
I remember seeing a wrestling match between Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdock against Ivan Koloff and Nicolai Volkoff in Orlando,Florida in 1980. It was part of a Holiday Tag Team Tournament. It's sad that Dusty Rhodes,Dick Murdock,Ivan Koloff and Nicolai Volkoff have all passed on:( Nicolai Volkoff started out in the WWWF in 1970 as Bepo Mongol tag teaming with Geeto Mongol who was Bill Eadie who became the Masked Superstar.

Wow hearing about Brian is surprising. This is going to be rough on his family, for sure. Interesting that he was still in a county jail over 3 weeks after getting picked up on a DUI. I read that the family made it to Memphis before he passed. Hope that’s true.

Brock putting his hands on Heyman? Man they are desperate to get him booed

The way the WWE is setting this up i think Roman Reign will finally beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title. I could see Paul Heyman possibly distract Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns takes advantage and pins Lesnar at Summerslam.

If Vince wants the Champion to be cheered then he has to take it. They have drove Roman down our throats so much for two years that he could go away for six months to a year and still get booed when returned.
The best move for Roman Reigns would be for him to turn heel and have Paul Heyman manage him. It would also be cool for Paul Heyman to manage Ronda Rousey also because she's horrible behind the mic.

Would prefer him with Ronda! It ups the women's division and quite frankly I have enjoyed their matches more lately.

I think Ronda Rousey will win the RAW Women's Title at Summerslam from Alexa Bliss and i think Becky Lynch will win the WWE Women's Title from Carmella because she's getting one hell of a push by the WWE.

First, I'm honestly more bothered by Christopher's death than any other in a long time. When I was in elementary school (3rd grade to be exact) was when the Attitude Era was at its peak arguably. Too Cool were the first tag team I really saw start off and attached to as a kid. They were the first (and only for years) merch I had from WWF, and me and another friend from school even did the dances for teachers and other kids, with me being Grandmaster Sexay. So it hits a bit harder than the others because he was one of the first childhood sports/acting heroes I had. Forty Six is extremely young for anyone, and for him to have killed himself is just more proof we do need help with our mental illness awareness in this country. And if you think someone with multiple DUI's doesn't have a mental illness of some kind already, then I implore you to research addiction and mental disorders as a whole.

On a much lighter note, Dolph Ziggler was on Roast Battle sunday night after the Roast of Bruce Willis (I think that was the first airing, I don't watch much tv so not sure.) He was up against a girl who did exceptionally well at the previous roast battles, and honestly, he absolutely destroyed her. I was extremely impressed with his jokes. Unfortunately, as tv shows like that do, the comedians and friends looked out for each other and said she won despite it being pretty clear she did not.

Then again, he may have requested to not win ahead of time just to keep his schedule open so who knows, but I'd actually like to see him do more things like that to see if it was a one off thing or if he actually has decent chops in something like that. Because even if he had a ghost writer, it still takes quite a bit of skill to deliver jokes in timing and have off the cuff jokes between interactions with someone you're up against live, especially in situations where the other person is literally trying to be as mean and funny as possible at once to you.
