The WRASSLIN’ Thread

Vince has no idea how to run a wrestling promotion but I do any or all of the following:

1. Watch it on TV
2. Pay for the network
3. Buy merch
4. Talk about it on the internet
5. Go to events

Yeah, that Vince. What a real idiot.

Such a dumb and weak arugument. UT football has been attrocious the past decade, do you still do all the above with it? Lmao. When you’re a fan of something, giving it up isn’t easy. You just have to hope it gets better

You have incredibly low standards. Just because the opener was great doesn’t justify the rest of the card.

It was a lot more than just 1 great opening match. Halfway through the ppv somebody (maybe Z?) said "there hasn't been a bad match yet", but then we find out AJ/Nakamura isn't the main event and all of the sudden it's one of the worst PPVs in recent memory.

I’m ok with not everything being on the line last night, I’ve often railed against one per brand PPVs each month, it’s just too much imo.

Acting like Vince doesn’t know what he’s doing continues to be dumb and weak though because network sales and profits continue to rise, even if total attendance numbers are down (important to note, they’re down across the board in TV ratings, sports attendance figures, etc.). We gripe every day, but watch every time it’s on. Vince is still winning.

I thought the match quality was solid but some strange ass booking/match layout decisions throughout the night made it a tough one.

Dude, all the matches were bad (Nia vs Alexa, Tag match, main event) to mediocre (Styles vs Nakamura, Orton vs Hardy, Carmella match, Bryan vs Cass) besides the opener. I don't know what else to tell you.

I thought Nak/Styles was great except for the trash ending. I liked how legitimate Mella looked (a clean win over Charlotte is not easy!) but I wish they had worked that match different.

Charlotte dominated first five minutes, does moonsault on outside but hurts knee. Mella is smart and attacks the knee, does some different maneuvers and works the leg. While Charlotte makes her come back the knee buckles, Charlotte kicks her, then she makes the creative pin. Makes Charlotte strong (lost bc the knee gave out), Mella looks credible but still heelish and you can run another match with Charlotte having a legit reason for payback.

I personally liked the show for the most part . Miz and Rollins can’t put on a bad match . Jeff and Orton was a solid match nothing spectacular . Nakamura vs Styles was really good . I even liked the ending that everyone hated . It’s perfect psychology. . Carmella vs Charollet was sneaky good . I expected it to be a squash or a squash fail . Nia vs Alexa was trash , the tag match was awful , and then main event was incredibly boring

Despite the fact that Orton is considered by almost all insiders and wrestlers alike to be one of the best ever in the ring, UTK hates him. Ben and I hated Punk, but both would admit he was great in the ring. Utk doesn’t like who is getting pushed nor does he like the winners from last night, so he’s mad

I absolutely hate how Finn Balor is being treated but I put that aside when discussing shows

WWE has a little bit of a problem in that they have a lot of good talent, probably as much or more than they've ever had at any one time. It's a good problem to have, but it also makes it hard to find airtime and a good storyline for everyone on the roster. Balor, for instance. He'd be great as the IC champ and have a program going with Owens or Zayn, neither of which have anything good going right now. But they have the IC belt on Rollins, which is fine, but he should be higher in the pecking order and should be in the world title chase. As things stand now, it just creates a logjam. Since they're obviously gonna leave the belt on Lesnar for the time being, at least create some competition and feuds for the #1 contender slot, which could include Owens, Rollins, Strowman, and Lashley. Something that would further strengthen this group, which makes too much sense and WWE is apparently not interested in doing, would be to make Reigns a heel.

I personally felt Balor fit better on smackdown and was amazed they didn’t make that move . To much size on raw imo
