The WRASSLIN’ Thread

That was my high school years. Monday night's were lit!

I don't think they could keep something like that under wraps now days with social media.

I was going into Kindergarten, but I still remember watching WCW with my family. Crazy how much you remember of things you fell in love with.

I have thought the same thing when thinking why wrestling can’t have big time angles like they used to. I’m guessing the last true, big angle was the Summer of Punk 2011.

Where do you all rank the build up to Bash at the Beach 1996?

It was monumental. People still don't get how huge it was. It changed the entire business. It literally made pro wrestling "must-watch TV." If the 80's was the "Golden Age" of pro wrestling, then 1995-2001 was the "Platinum Age." We will never see any angle as stunning and have as far-reaching of an affect as the NWO angle. Never. It was a once-in-lifetime occurrence (even though Bischoff admits stealing the idea from New Japan (I think it was New Japan)). Pro Wrestling will never hit those heights again, I am afraid.

Really enjoyed the stadium match. Jungle Boy vs MJF was pretty solid too. Ladder match was a bit underwhelming but solid show for sure.
That spot in the ladder match where Cage gorilla pressed the ladder with Darby laying on it and threw it outside into another ladder and he fell to the ground afterwards was nuts.

The loss of Ray Fenix took something from that match. Still, they put on a pretty good show. I'm really curious to see what BC can do in a promotion with some $. We'll see if he can stay healthy.
