The worship of Peyton Manning

on what Kirk Hurbstreet said that Peyton said to him in a phone call? Give me a break. I don't think Currie gave Peyton a veto vote. It was probably more like " if that is who you want I won't disagree, publicly.

Has Manning came out and said he endorsed these coaching hires. I have not seen anything from Manning himself.

Nope nothing. Nothing at all. If he didn't, why wouldn't he come out and say something? Every single report that comes out says he has been involved heavily in the coaching search.

Swain had about 15 VFLs on the air today in support of Tennessee. Tons of other VFLs have spoken out in support of Tennessee on Twitter.

So ... if he's not involved, Manning, lord and savior of Tennessee Football, has nothing to say about any of this?

I love Manning. He's my favorite player of all time. I just think he's out of touch on this one ... and perhaps gone a little insane

im not trying to argue with you, but wouldnt your description of possible events (not standing up against a bad decision), be the same thing as being on board?

He's kinda like the Wermacht in ww2, very good at his job and not as guilty as those above him, but still quite questionable. This is mostly me just stiring the pot of insanity

Can we finally stop?

He IS our Kim Jon Un

Tee was never going to be allowed to come while he had his nose in our business. UT is bigger than Peyton.

It's also basically confirmed he agreed with making Penn State history a part of UT history.

Congratulations! You are officially plumbing heretofore uncharted depths of stupidity.

Yeah, who has UT's best interest at heart, Clay Helton and Steve Spurrier or Peyton Manning?

Unfortunately, Currie and his cast of characters have the program in free fall. Hire Tee and you'll be on the market for another coach inside 3 yrs. No super coordinators are going to hitch their career to a 2nd yr OC at USC!

Tennessee shouldn't be in the position that this crazy talk is even out there, but they are due to stupidity. Hiring Tee now would be icing on the cake.

Unfortunately, I must agree with you. I appreciate Tee and what he did for UT football, but like you, I do not believe he could put the staff together that it would take to rebuild our program from the ash heap it currently is.We need a coach who can draw a great set of coordinators, great position coaches, and recruits to get this mess cleaned up. It may take a year or two, but it can be done... with the right coach. However, the CoachMart bargain rack specials Currie and his henchmen are trying to pawn off on us will just inflict more damage, and we all know it. So, Like I said, I love Tee, but he isn't ready quite yet.
