Can we finally stop?

He IS our Kim Jon Un

Tee was never going to be allowed to come while he had his nose in our business. UT is bigger than Peyton.

It's also basically confirmed he agreed with making Penn State history a part of UT history.

Maybe the worship of Tee Martin is just as misplaced?

I mean, the guy has only been a coordinator for three years and he isn't even allowed to call plays on 3rd and long yet.

Aren't there alot of coordinators more qualified to be a head coach at this point?

And our coaching search should be bigger than tee

But I agree with the manning worship

Yes on both statements.

I'm not a fan of Tee coming here necessarily, but I realize he was completely out of the discussion because of Manning's butthurt.

I'm more upset with Manning's complete inability to have the pulse of the Tennessee fans AND to represent their interests.

Backing Schiano? Backing Doeren? WTF, Manning.

thou shalt not speak evil of peyton!

I want Kiffin or someone decent as well. But how much Peyton had to do with Haslams foisting mediocrity on us is unknown at the momement. I somehow doubt Shianto was Peyton's first choice. More like, he doesnt have the complete juice yet in that tiny circle, was thinking of his GM slot in NFL and said, "I think someone else would be better, but, yeah, Jimmy, if you and your bunch of implanted stooges say so".

Yeah, who has UT's best interest at heart, Clay Helton and Steve Spurrier or Peyton Manning?

Unfortunately, Currie and his cast of characters have the program in free fall. Hire Tee and you'll be on the market for another coach inside 3 yrs. No super coordinators are going to hitch their career to a 2nd yr OC at USC!

Tennessee shouldn't be in the position that this crazy talk is even out there, but they are due to stupidity. Hiring Tee now would be icing on the cake.

Is this what we've come to? Turning on everyone who doesn't share our own opinion?

Get a grip, people.

Agreed.

Peyton was obviously a great quarterback and leader for UT while playing here and later in the NFL.

But playing football and coaching/hiring the right people for the job are two completely different things. A lot of highly successful players do jack squat as a coach/AD/GM/whatever else. Lousy players often are great coaches and evaluators of talent.

Aaaand most importantly Peyton being behind the Schiano hire only proves he's a puppet for Haslam nowadays.

Peyton you were a great player and will always have a special place in all our hearts, but don't pick our coaches or run our school.

Has Manning came out and said he endorsed these coaching hires. I have not seen anything from Manning himself.

Can we incite one of the students to take down the Peyton Manning Pass street sign and hold it for ransom? Ransom of John Currie gets fired, the sign gets returned.

Peyton brought the Vols their 12th SEC championship. He always has respect for that.

Doesn’t mean he knows what UT needs in terms of a coach, though.
