Predict:
1) attendance at kickoff of Bama
2) attendance at start of 2nd half

UF WAS BRUTAL TO WATCH
Simply brutal IMO
I took my son to the game and between the beat down and 4 minutes TV timeouts I was going to leave at half time. I should have.. and just waited on the bus till the 4th quarter

Thank goodness!

Well, now that we've all been told what to think and how to act, I guess we might as well go ahead and shut down this site. Thank you, OP. Good luck to you and the rest of VN in all of your future endeavors.

I get what you are saying op, the difference between then and now is that then we were getting beat by our big rivals. Those rivals no longer consider us rivals. Our rivalry battles currently consist of scrapping with the worst team to avoid the gutter. It has literally never been this bad. Two seasons with no conference wins are staring us square in the face.

I am thankful we have passionate fans, if we didn't this program would resemble a Vandy home game were the opponents consistently have as many fans as the home team. If you want a passionate fanbase you have to accept the negative aspects for negative regressive play. You don't have one without the other. It is what it is.

So please explain to me how JP is responsible for the recruits and players that are on the field this year..and again as I said to others please just call in to vol calls and tell us your game plan that you know will win out the rest of this year and who names we need to plug in at each position and thier back ups and leave your phone # so we can call you when the whiners want to bash someone. This is JP's team but the players someone else recruited. If your son was participating in on the Vols team how would you feel about the whining fans. If it was your son getting the bashing how would you feel. Pruitt did not recruit these kids but even at that they are young men and they have family who all they can do is to encourage the kid. So come on, lets encourage the kids to give their best.

I didn't say he is responsible for every recruit that may be underdeveloped by Butch. However, as I already said, people that pay their tickets and buy TN products, etc. have every right to complain at a loss. I see very few people targeting the players specifically but if my son was half-assing and not giving his all I would definitely have words with him about it. I could care less that they're young men. Men their age have been placed in tougher situations and in leadership roles in combat environments for centuries. They should be earning their scholarship and benefits by playing their best, and clearly Pruitt said some did and some weren't playing their best the whole time.

Another "You're not a true fan post" if you don't buy overpriced tickets to see crap football. The fans are responsible for letting it go on way too long because they have filled that stadium for years. Vandy is better than us right now and can't get 15k hardly to show up to their games. Fans did their part ,it's on them to provide a better product or i don't blame them for staying home..
I said whiners...are you whining...again Pruitt did not recruit these guys...your trying to blast Pruitt for years past...he had nothing to do with it...so now you go ahead this week and call vol calls and give your full name and phone # and tell us the game plan that will win out the rest of the year....that is what you want isnt it...We want to hear a real game plan and not one like failure Pruitt...go ahead lets see how many seconds it takes before you are booed out of the state...i bet you'll be a real winner

Spot on, but unfortunately a considerable amount do follow them over a cliff while preaching how dumb the rest are for not doing it. Then rinse and repeat every new coach while proclaiming how smart they are.
Absolutely true!! It’s crazy... these same ones saying Pruitt needs all this time because butch left him such a mess will be saying you have to give so and so 3 years because of the mess pruitt left... and they wonder why people have a hard time accepting there talk.

Make no mistake...I am a supporter of the Paul Bains of this team. The Paul Bain that some would ridicule and make fun of. A real team mate who tries to give his all for Tennessee. Tries within his capacity to be the best he can be so the fans and family can be proud of him. What an inspiration for any young man to emulate. His future is bright no matter where he shows up. He has character. Sounds like he plays the game of life for the better of others. So yeah I support the team that many are trying to kick out the door through no fault of their own. They have to have a life after football too. That is what UT is for. Many will not play in the NFL so lets encourage them to be like Paul Bain and be successful. Hopefully Mr. Bain can use his talents to make peoples smiles just a little prettier !

I'm not going blast the players here or the coaching staff for several reasons. Mainly, after (7) years of working (2) jobs and not being able to attend any games due to that....I decided enough was enough and gave up the second job so that I could attend games this year. And, this was my first ever night time game that I had gotten to attend. Was I happy with the results? No but I stayed the entire game and enjoyed the atmosphere of this game even though our VOLS seemed to turnover the ball every possible way that could be done. But I also went into that game knowing that whichever team won, that team will still have a challenge to win 6 wins this year. I may not be as upset with some fans that have attended the games for years but this weekend does not stop me from still supporting my VOLS. I do not expect CJP to right the ship overnight and I'm old enough (61) to remember lean and bad years before our successful years. What made my night was my seats were in Section U on the 4th row right behind the white board. We could see the players and coaches faces, we could hear them, and observe them up close. To sit there and witness this, I know the staff and players are working to compete. I do believe this staff is trying to make them better and for a better product on the field. And to watch a coach sit and talk with an upset player just moments after he made a mistake....That was positive. And I saw and heard that same coach royally chew out another player for a mistake.....Only to come back to him later and put his arm around him to lift his head up and allow him to get down on himself. The biggest part that I saw missing was the fire to win in the players when they made mistakes.....And it seemed that the lack of spirit to win was missing. We may not see it this year, but I believe we will next year. I am still a believer and supporter and this one season or game does not change it for me.

act exactly like the whining players and team they criticize ... the whining fans will just pick up their pads and leave if things don't go they way they want them to go. Pot calling kettle black if I ever saw it. They turn out to be just like what they say they despise.

Well, from what coach Pruitt just said it sounds like a REAL COACH to me trying to be honest with everyone. Didn't throw players under the bus nor did he the coaches BUT he did place the responsibility at everyones feet including him and his staff for Saturdays play.

I did not like the play calling at all but COACH PRUITT I AM BEHIND YOU 150 % ALL THE THE WAY. Fans we got us a great coach. It's going to be awhile but Pruitt is the one.

Sounded to me the heart and soul of the team came to his office to watch film and accept responsibility and try to PULL TOGETHER to improve. I think the fans should do the same.

If the core of the team moves in tandem then others will begin to follow. THANK YOU COACH PRUITT FOR TAKING ON THE TOUGH JOB OF COACHING THE TENNESSEE VOLS .

Mrs. Pruitt,is that you?

If any fan base in America has reason to "whine", it's this one.
How many times over the past several years now have we been fooled into believing the latest newly-hired head coach of the Vols was going to be the one to lead UT back to the promised land only to be bitterly disappointed by the time he either abruptly left or had his string run out?

Exactly!! It's Sa-Turd--ay in TN.

CJP may turn out to be a great DC who can make a team big, mean and tough. He may not be the greatest at hiring the best OC for the job. Time will tell. But to me, he's a hell of a lot better football guy than CBJ ever dreamed of being and if he can't turn this s**t show around, we will be left in a lot better shape than we're in now, which is the worst ever. Plus, I'd pay to see a CBJ/CJP matchup in the octagon.

Hasn't won an SEC game yet and he's a "real coach"?

BTW I'm behind him 150% too. I'll be behind him hoping he is the real deal and hoping to not be forced to be behind him pushing him out the door.

60% of the time, I'm behind him all the time.

No one called out Pruitt. He's just here during the time when i'm afraid the chickens are going to come home to roost. I hate it for him, he deserves better but this has been coming for a while . He's not going to enjoy the fan support that the 3 previous losers have had and it's not his fault.

Why don’t you pay for everyones expenses that went to the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd quit going to games if they caused me to bitch about every little detail. Especially when there are a great deal of posters on here repeatedly explaining the fact that UT isn't going to have a decent team until 3 yrs. from now

Replace Pruitt with Butch or Dooley, and I have seen this exact crybaby story...

"We got us a coach, y'all"
"It may take a while"
"Gets his players"
"Whiny fans"

You follow the chart more than Butch did...

Well Fred why don't you just call in to Vol Calls and give them your plan to win the remaining games on our schedule THIS YEAR. Now that is what I am talking about and tell us who should be playing at each position and when it doesn't turn out the way you think it should all these whining fans are then going to whine on you. Think about that for a sec

None of these whiners on here are going to Calhoun's and man-up. They talk like they gotta sack. They're pissed because they fell for the hype and pointing the finger at the staff who is doing the best they can with what they got. I'm taking notes and they'll be back when things get better singing a different tune. I'll politely remind them of how wrong they were back then.
