act exactly like the whining players and team they criticize ... the whining fans will just pick up their pads and leave if things don't go they way they want them to go. Pot calling kettle black if I ever saw it. They turn out to be just like what they say they despise.

Well, from what coach Pruitt just said it sounds like a REAL COACH to me trying to be honest with everyone. Didn't throw players under the bus nor did he the coaches BUT he did place the responsibility at everyones feet including him and his staff for Saturdays play.

I did not like the play calling at all but COACH PRUITT I AM BEHIND YOU 150 % ALL THE THE WAY. Fans we got us a great coach. It's going to be awhile but Pruitt is the one.

Sounded to me the heart and soul of the team came to his office to watch film and accept responsibility and try to PULL TOGETHER to improve. I think the fans should do the same.

If the core of the team moves in tandem then others will begin to follow. THANK YOU COACH PRUITT FOR TAKING ON THE TOUGH JOB OF COACHING THE TENNESSEE VOLS .

You have no proof. No meaningful wins as a HC. No out coaching equally matched talent. No over achieving. Nothing.

He MAY be good. He may be great. But he also may be a giant turd. The end of season 2 will tell his story.

Did you go to whine or just enjoy the day and support your team. If you went to support the team then why are you whining ?
You probably need to adjust your attitude and come back to reality. Its going to be a long year and a tough 2 or 3 years after that. Life is short. Be thankful you had good enough health to be able to go to a game and enjoy it. A lot of people would cherish the thought of being able to go to a game

Oh look, another person who thinks their opinion matters and think they are taking some moral high ground by being a "true fan". A word that gets abused on here way too much. And seems to have a different definition to everyone.

You think everybody should never be critical or upset. That we should all just enjoy it. "Like, boy we sure our getting our asses kicked...but isn't this grand guys?! Teehee!". I'm sure plenty of folks went to "enjoy the day" but couldn't because their favorite team turns the ball over 6 times.

People are tired of the product that has been put on the field for the last 10 years, is it Pruitts fault? No, however he's taking the bullets and he's compensated well enough that I think he will be ok. This University continues to charge people Bama prices for a Vanderbilt product ( hell I would take a Vanderbilt product at this point. ). This University and program haven't seen apathy yet but if Pruitt doesn't work out here then Tennessee football will never be relevant again. I am 100% behind Pruitt but I do understand why many, myself included are fed up.

The fans have been doing just that.

From Fulmers last days, to Kiffin, then Dooley and Butch. 4 previous coaches that the fan base gave 100% support to until time passed and losses began piling up after one sub-par performance after another.

10 years of it. Sorry to inform you that a considerable amount of the fan base does not blindly follow the programs coaches over the cliff.

Lol, I swear you could replace Pruitt with "Dooley" and you'd have the same thing that was posted in 2010.

He was not addressing sports consumers who are more interested in a return on investment, he was addressing full blooded with you to the end fans.... lack of composure by fans is just as ugly as it is for players.... not really an issue with sports consumers... sad is acceptable for fans, sick is acceptable for fans, other emotions not so much....

Short story...Years ago I used to go to the games with 2 other guys. Oh, those guys were so up for the conference games. The Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn ect...man, the ride to the game with them was well worth the price of admission. It was hilarious. Well, most of the time on our way back home it was like a funeral. Their jaws dropped down to the floor. They swore they would never go to another game. But as the week wore on the despair wore off and they were ready to go again. I can't tell you how much fun I had on a Saturday just listening to them talk the Tennessee talk only to be let down. In those days Archie Manning was coming to put on a show or Bo Jackson or UCLA or USC and Marcus Allen. I can remember always getting run out of our own stadium by Alabama. I vividly recall to this day after we took another beating from them how one of the offensive lineman looked DOWN at our defensive players and patted him on his helment. The fun was in the friends and family. Today one of them is no longer with us. But, oh the memories. So my suggestion would be for fans to try to find a little enjoyment when the attend a game just by being with the ones they enjoy being around and their loved ones.

Did you ever go to a Tennessee game where as it turned out you enjoyed and cherished the moment you had with family and friends more than the game itself. I have and hope you also can experience the same.

And plz stop being the fan police. At this point ppl has a right to feel however they want. If it bothers you stay away
