The Walking Dead

I'm starting to have mixed feelings about this show in conjunction with this thread. I thoroughly enjoy when I can watch a show and not know what is about to happen. That's a great part of what makes a show interesting and entertaining. IF the producers of this show are wanting to take the show back to exactly what was going on in the comics then reading this thread from this point on is going to be a huge problem. All the comic book nerds(all due respect of course) in here are going to start giving away things that are going to happen in a tv show that hasn't aired yet.

Save the last few seasons it's what made True Blood the great show that it was it's first 4 seasons. You could literally read the books and completely enjoy them, then you could turn the show on and it would be changed up and you wouldn't know exactly what was going to happen and still completely enjoy that.

That said I hope the producers keep some things original and creative.

They have changed out characters and done things different. From what I have read, they will try to be original but use the various arcs of the comics.

I have a feeling Hershel is going to be Tyreesed. It fits in with the promos that imply he and Michonne are kidnapped.

I was reading today that some people surmise that Scott Gimple wanted to write the story as close to the comics as he could. However, to get to where he wanted to go with the story, they had to go back and re-work The Governor. Gimple and Kirkman felt that Glen Mazzera made TG too nice and too weak. They felt that they had to go back and kind of re-create him and give him a bit of depth in order to make him look the psycho that they needed him to be in order to get the story line back on track.

They also needed to repopulate the prison. There was a pretty big group in the comics leading up to the Gov's attack. Of course they have already thinned that group out again so maybe I'm off base with that.

If I was Carl I would've just took my open shot at him. I mean the guy shows up with a tank I'm pretty sure he's serious.

That was out of his hands. The Governor wasn't going to do things peacefully.

And the people Carol killed were gonna turn. Dude rolls up in a tank, and you are low on ammo, you leave plain and simple. How do you know he wasn't going to do it peacefully? The same way Rick should have known he couldn't negotiate. Rick is a terrible leader.

Or maybe Lizzy can lead good thing Carol trained them. also Daryl is a bad azz. Anyone still think Rick could take Tyrese after the Gov just beat him down?
