I wonder where they are going with the girl in the woods? It's just dumb to throw that out there and not follow it up. Maybe that's a lead into the hunters or another cannibal group

1st two seasons were best. 3rd was anticlimactic, especially the last episode.

I agree the last episode was anticlimactic when compared to S2's last two episodes. The season as a whole was very good IMO and probably better than S2 as a whole.

I think she's done; but I can see them introducing the cannibal group this season.

Go back through this thread. There was plenty of griping in season 3.

Must have missed that, bunch of complainers. Season 2 was legitimately lacking in zombies with them being on the farm the entire season and wondering through the woods for like 6 episodes looking for Sophia.

I didn't think that story was going anywhere. It was some woman who clearly lost it over the years and went crazy and couldn't let go of her husbands head.
If I had been Rick I would have told her I wouldn't kill her while she was still alive and then stabbed her and her husbands brain before I left. Who wants to bet we see her again at some point this season on the fence line or worse?

I think that just more for Ricks story. Cause he's been struggling with everything he has had to do, and now trying to be normal again. She asked, "do you think I can come back from what I've had to do." Then Rick immediately talks to Hershel about it, who tries to re enforce that Rick did what he had to, to keep them alive and that Rick is a good man and can come back from the bad he had to do. I don't think it was anything more than that, just more to add to the inner struggles Rick has been facing.

I was going to say the same thing.

They talked about the significance of what she said on Talking Dead, but I can't remember what Scott Gimple said now.

But why try to kill him? I think the cannibals would be a new threat that would add depth. But, no way they talk about them eating their kids on the TV show

everyone simmer down - it's the season opener.

According the producer on Talking Dead - sh#%s about to get real in episode 2 and 3.

Makes sense. This episode was just set up for the coming chit storm. It showed the characters getting comfortable at the prison. Creating a life there. The title was 30 Days Without an Accident.

Usually if something starts with a bang it teeters off pretty quick.

I thought that it was a great season opener. People need to stop expecting climax episode after climax type episode. The show is a series and each week is a new sequence of events. Enjoy it.

I agree, but to be fair, I think most TWD fans are probably BB fans too, so it's kind of understandable that everyone's standards are high at the moment.

The good news is compared to most everything else I've watched last week, this was the best. I'm looking at you Person of Interest.

Well we haven't a climactic episode in about 4-5 episodes IMO so we are due one.

The dead kid in the shower had me thinking that a retreat from the prison was coming next week. But scenes from upcoming episodes make me rethink that the exodus from the prison doesn't come until later in the season.

Also, why did the producers seem to have everybody near the fence line take a long look at the walker that looked like it's eyes were bleeding?

Regarding the girl in the woods, did anybody else find it strange that her tent looked as if it had just been set up?

The kid that died in the shower had the same bleeding eyes look as the walker they kept focusing on.

I believe they are hinting at a possible mutation of the the virus.

But even with Breaking Bad not every episode was climactic. They too had quite a few slow episodes.

I'm with you on POI. I want to see John Reese, it feels like he left the show.

Yeah, It is hard for me to imagine this show ever having a happy ending.

My fiance and I were just talking about this the other night and she came up with one that I had never heard. She said what if this has all been in Rick's head during his coma and when he wakes up, he's still in the hospital and none of it was real? It would probably never happen but that would still be crazy and something that would seem to be right up Frank Darabont's alley. I would definitely give it more credence if he were still attached. As it stands, I see no way for them to end it besides kill off every character. Ain't nobody got time for happy endings.
