The Walking Dead

I've read up through the Governor's storyline and I wouldn't say the zombies are any more of a force than they are in the show. In fact they may be a little more of a force in the show. The comics never had a herd come through like at the end of season 2. They also seemed slower and less threatening in the comics.

It is darker in terms of the human interaction. For instance, the Governor is a sick sick man in the comics. The stuff they hinted at in the show with Maggie happens in the comic but to Michonne. It's pretty brutal. Her retaliation is just as brutal too. It didn't stop with his eye.

Like someone said a few pages back. After the first year the zombies sort of become the lava you avoid falling into and the real conflict is within the group and with other survivors.

Oh I didn't know that, just going from what I'd been told. Which why I asked I didn't want to say it without being sure.

I heard about the Gov, and what they told me about him and his antics, probably wouldn't go over to well on tv. Maybe I should read the comic myself. :)

I haven't read the comics, but from what I've heard the zombies are more of a force and it's a lot darker. Isn't it?

I mean I can honestly see both sides of the argument. I think they have made it more drama, and less zombie based to keep the new viewers. I'm a huge zombie fan and even I would grow tired of 24-7 zombie attacks. You give the audience what they want. And as the show has grown, I think more and more people that are not zombie fans have tuned in, they are there for the struggle of an apocalyptic world. But they are turning off the people that do tune in for the zombies.

It just seems that the show could a better job balancing the show to cater to both sets of fans. Just my 2 pennies

The governor on the show looks like Hershel in season 2 compared to the comics governor. And dead babies/children, rape, etc. Yeah. Dark is a good word.

Pissed the Gov didn't get a bullet between his eyes from his own men after mowing down 90% of his fighting force and pitching a fit like a child. How can they still follow him after he did that?!

He had the keys to the truck. :)

Id watch it on HBO

A friend of mine said back in season 1 how much better this show could be if it were on cable.

Get the Compendium vol.1 on Amazon. I think it around $36. That will get you through the Gov storyline.

Compendium 2 gets it to #100. It's currently on #109 or so now.

If you're lazy, the pirate bay has it too online.

Eh... I'm for supporting the creator in this case. Indie publishing is a tough business. The creators write, draw, and post produce the entire book before seeing a dime. And while Kirkman is getting paid from the show I still want to support the publishing side

Marvel and DC stuff have at it. Those guys get paid by the page. Unless its a low selling title that needs support to keep from getting cancelled.

Finally caught up and finished the season.

I still stand by what I posted here in season 1 I believe it was. Some people thought it was appalling I wanted Carl killed off from the show. Guess what... I still do. I like the show but he makes it almost unbearable. "I think she's one of us"... smirk. "I need to make a run on my own" as his dad sits in a booby trapped house. Then the little idiot thinks he's gonna open the door with 20 walkers to get a picture. I can look past how stupid his character is but his acting is terrible and makes it so much worse. Oh, and the fact that they played it off like the 20 year old blonde chick that takes care of Rick's baby was into Carl. I don't care if it's the end of the world, having sex with a zombie corpse would better than dating Carl friggin Grimes. Heck, why not her one legged father? Incest is a better option Carl. Alabama fans know what I'm talking bout. :)

That is all...

I think I'll watch a movie now with a child actor who wasn't awful.

Read that lengthy comment that one guy left in the comment section, he makes some pretty good points.

The grenade launcher came from the soldiers that crashed in the helicopter.

That dude takes shiz a little too serious.

He was wrong about the grass. Technically it goes dormant due to the cold winter weather, it isn't killed. Although it could die for a variety of other reasons.

They do mini-shows called webisodes that give you insight to backstories about various characters.

The webisodes have generally been about characters not on the show though. The first set was about Bicycle Girl, who was only in the first episode.

The second set only referenced Rick from a box in a storage unit, otherwise there was no backstory or reference to the main story.
