The Walking Dead

One of the better episodes since the first 3 of last season imo Found a lot of it intense. Just hope they don't miraculously keep Glenn alive, there was absolutely no way he could have survived that.

I thought it was pretty meh to sometimes stupid.

Dude is the first person I've ever seen on tv/movies after shooting himself in the head can turn backwards and fall forward. I thought after their crap with the falling van they would have learned their lesson but I guess not.

Second, it felt very dragged out and I'm sorry but why am I supposed to care about 3-4 characters that never appeared before this episode? Everyone knew all or most would die. It didn't help that some of them were terrible actors. Especially that first guy who somehow let one lone walker eat his neck.

I get why the Alexandirans might make rookie mistakes but why do the main people keep doing stupid things? These situations are feeling very forced.

as i just said, the bold was indeed stupid.

as for the rest of it, i guess I should say that I went in already knowing something big/upsetting was going to happen, so maybe it just made everything more intense for me. I kept watching, wondering, who's it gonna be? Yeah, the Alexandrians are basic "red shirts", but I still enjoyed watching them struggle to make it out of there, wondering which of them (if any of them) were going to live to fight another day. I didn't find that any of it dragged at all. Then you count in Rick's possible injury(possible zombie bite?), a very sad, brutal ending to one of my fave characters (if they bring him back alive, then ignore this and count it a huge flaw), and a last 10 mins AFTER freaking Glenn's death, in which I was still unnerved that someone else might join him.

I thought it was better than the previous two this season, both of which I just thought were meh. I will say that I wish they hadn't gone the ambiguous route with Glenn, but since I didn't think that when it occurred, I'll give it a pass as long as he is indeed dead.

That's why I say there's no way Glenn is dead. There is no way other characters like Andrea, Tyreese, and even freaking Bob get better sendoffs than Glenn.

The problem is the huge corner they've painted themselves into; if he is dead it's a very pathetic way for him to go out, but if he's alive it's a pathetic copout.

I don't agree with this at all. If anything, it just made the show more real. Not everyone gets the heroic, sentimental death that some may think they deserve. Glenn went out in a truly upsetting way, but that's just how life goes sometimes. He was always one to give people second chances and keep his morals in check, in fact, while I haven't fact-checked this quite yet, he apparently is the only regular that has never killed a human on the show ever. he gave nicholas a chance at redemption and it wound up being his undoing.

unfortunately, i don't think the writers would either think nor care to do this lol as you said, they gave pretty large sappy endings for those characters you mentioned. hell, tyrese got an entire episode really, and funny enough, everything about that episode/death/character was pretty poorly done/handled.

overall though, i have no issue with how Glenn went out. just like the fact that he's a beloved character doesn't make him bulletproof, it shouldn't mean he's going to get a perfect death either.

and after rewatching the clip, he HAS to be dead. the dude is literally crying out in agony.

Glenn has fallen off in the show lately due to all the new characters, but come on. He was literally the very first person besides Morgan and his son that Rick meets. It just seems insane that he would get that crappy way out.

I've been reading a board that has some serious guys that know what they're talking about from my experience. Including nailing the exact scene that happened last night. They say don't be surprised if that was a hallucination just to screw with us.

Glenn calling Rick dumbass and looking at that clock does kind of make it seem real though.

While I feel the way I mentioned in my above post, I do agree with these points too. Sometimes that's how it happens.

Also

Glenn has been spotted and pictures are out there for proof filming still. Filming with characters that are going to be introduced to the show in the future so flash backs are out the window.

My wife keeps aggervating me at work with rick got bit(she just watched it). I know I saw the knife break and him shove the 2nd walker before taking him out but did he get bit during the scuffle?

Not everyone in the zombie Apocalypse is going to die a heroic death. If they don't have actual characters that matter die to the odd zombies here or there, nor hoards, then we as the audience is aren't going to view them as a threat either. With the way everyone is a master marksmen, executing headshot after headshot, walkers seem more like a pest than a real threat. And I get it. They've become good at dealing with them. They have experience dealing with them however it just takes one time to slip up. I know a lot of people will say it was a bad death because he wasn't doing anything heroic but its an important death. It shows zombies are still a threat and not to be overlooked.

I think the blade just cut him. The issue (brought up on TTD) is that in the comics Walker blood in the wound might require him to Herschel that hand...Never read the comics but that seems to be what Chris was referencing.

After Glenns death I could only think of season one when Rick pulled the trigger and it clicks.

I read a theory that said Glenn might have been stunned by the gunshot and that what we saw was Glenn "dreaming".

A lot of people are claiming Nicholas fell on top of Glen and he somehow pulls himself under the Garbage can.

Edit: He shoots the flare gun creating a distraction.

Yeah he lost his hand awhile back at this point in the comics.

Yup, that one is out there. It's lame as well.

I would agree that its lame. As much as I don't want Glenn dead, I don't think there is any way for them to keep him alive without it being stupid. I know he dies in the comics but he deserves a better send off than that.

Kirkman said he always regretted that part in the comics. So I doubt that's where we are headed but could happen. I also don't see any way he didn't get zombie blood in that wound. But I'm sure TV magic will prevail and somehow not even one blood cell was transferred in a bloody knife battle

I'm still hoping he's dead. Would be awesome to me if they just left it that way and moved on.

If Glenn was really dead, don't you think they would've shown him obviously being killed? I just feel that if he died, they would've shown a better camera angle showing that it was his guts getting ripped out.

Also Glenn wasn't spitting up any blood and if you look closely, it looks like the part the zombies are chowing on is higher than Glenn's chest would be.

I don't think he's dead.
