There's just something about Rick that makes me want to watch. You're always wondering what he will do. How will he handle this situation? Will he be absolutely brutal and lose his mind, or will be be rational? I may be in the minority but he's pretty high on my favorite list lately.

The darker Rick gets, the more interesting he is to watch; much more so than the hesitant Officer Friendly from the early seasons.

I would call Rick one of my favorite characters. Especially this Rick. He doesn't kill anyone who doesn't need killed. If there is one character on this show who I would want to have my back in this world, it is Rick. He knows what needs to be done, he is capable of doing it, and he looks after his own.

Well when "so and so" died in GoT, it was only the first season, and there were so many different characters across the show that had great stories behind them. If Rick dies then what the **** is the point considering he's been the main leader and protagonist all this time, and to consider he basically was the main guy from the beginning as well, it's impossible to see him gone.

True, but I think a reasonably strong argument can be made that so and so was the central character in season 1; and many expected him to remain central throughout the show.

While he had a lot of air time and looked like the main guy in season one, his presence and death was mainly used to set the tone of the plot, which led to a spiderweb of stories. While people expected him to stay throughout, in the end his loss enhanced the show more than anything, which is what makes that moment and show amazing.

I can't imagine a scenario of how Rick can die and make it work

Rick is too much of a polarizing character. I personally think that this particular show wouldn't work without him.

But you don't need to kill important characters to make a comedy good.

It definitely wouldn't be the same show if they killed Rick. It would be a better show.

I think a huge part of the show is Rick developing from Officer Do-Good to Whatever-it-takes father/group leader.

How? He would it be better if you killed one of the best characters on the show? Other than the unbelievable shock factor it would provide.

I don't see Darryl dying tonight. You would think that he would get a lot more screen time before they kill him off, and he hasn't really had it. Glenn or Carol are very possible though.
