I said the same thing when I was watching last night. I actually said out loud to my girlfriend "I'm not sure I've seen a tv show do anything like this."

I've seen extremely graphic movies that blow that away, and some pretty brutal tv shows that are rated mature and all, but... I don't think I've ever witnessed a scene that could come close to comparing to that on a regular tv show.

Great episode. Show is at its best right now, which is pretty rare for a 5th season, IMO.

I must've stepped out for a second when Morgan saw the symbol on the tree. Did he just get a few seconds of screen time, or did I miss something else?

Can't wait to see Rick kill that **** with the machete, Danny Trejo style.

I'm wondering a little of there might be complaints about how far they're taking the gore/violence. I love the show, but are there any other shows, on regular cable channels, that set a precedent similar showing the Terminans clubbing people in the back of their head and slitting their throats so they can be butchered and eaten?

My wife gave up on the show cause she was bored with season 2. I caught her up with what's going on and she jumped back into it with the season premier. She was not happy about the violence.

I don't get how they can show throat slitting like that and AMC can't show some damn titties. Our values are so F'd up.

Lmao Huff! Season 2 was the worst season by far. The farm was a disaster and they wouldn't leave. Thought they would do that with Terminus this season, glad they wrapped that up in one episode.

As someone that has watched every episode since the show's premiere, I can say confidently that Sunday's episode was a top 3 of the series. Hell of a way to start the season.

I think it was a little cliff hanger for those that stuck around after the credits.

This is definitely one of the few shows that gets better with time. I think it has the ability to make its audience second guess whats about to happen. It also never fails to make Rick look like a BAMF. Carl, please take notes.

We're pretty much the only country that does this. Go to Europe or Asia and nudity is far more accepted than violence, a few shows come to mind that, in britain, aired on weeknights at 8:00 and show nudity, one even had an entire season plotline around a guys penis, with it being shown and all full frontal, but stuff like TWD would be aired much later at night or on premium networks.

I personally think we've got it backwards too, nudity is something kids find on the internet at 10-12 years old these days. Not many 10 year olds go hunting for gore or out to maim and kill things

Just finished it. I was rather shocked at how graphic the trough scene was. Very intense. And you just kept waiting for rick to busy free. Didn't catch the first kid to get it was from the episode that Carol got ditched. Nice touch there.

It's nice having Rick back and more badass than ever buy most of the episode I just kept thinking how Carol had turned into a one woman wrecking crew. She needs to be his right hand man.

Agree totally on the backward values of American audiences. I've been saying that for years.

While I agree that there should be less human on human violence on tv (our shows are loaded with it), the show is pretty much centered around the concept that there are sub-humans that eat humans. I was more mortified that the zombies were feasting on that poor girl in the street than the throat-slashings. Why? Because the throat slashings could be explained by their presence being a threat to the 'town.' The scene with the girl is explained by the premise of the show, but still more disturbing to me.
Yes, I SHOULD be more disturbed at what humans are willing to do to one another, but in the world they face, why?

Complete honesty, I don't see why everyone is freaking over that scene. It wasn't even really that disturbing to me, it was a bat to the head and a throat slice no biggie. Rick ripping the guys throat out with his teeth was far more f'd up, hell the Governor's scene with Maggie was more intense. I mean it was a cool scene, but nothing super crazy.

I'm not shocked by the scene. Just wondering when the nanny crowd will start their protests to the FCC.

As far as HBO goes, the pay channels have always operated with different standards as far as nudity/violence/language.
