Robert Kirkman’s Exorcism Drama ‘Outcast’ Gets Pilot Green Light At Cinemax

Outcast, the exorcism drama project from The Walking Dead executive producer Robert Kirkman, is moving to a pilot stage at Cinemax. Kirkman made the announcement on Twitter from Comic-Con, where he is with the AMC zombie drama which has its always-popular panel presentation in Hall H. In his pilot writing debut, Kirkman penned Outcast on spec for The Walking Dead international partner Fox International Channels, which developed the project internally before taking it out. Cinemax acquired the script last November. Like The Walking Dead, Outcast too is based on a comic by Kirkman, who will serve as executive producer alongside David Alpert of Circle of Confusion, Sue Naegle, Chris Black, and Sharon Tal Yguado of FIC. The project follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a journey to find answers, but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.

Looks like a lot of plot theories in this thread are little off the mark.

The Walking Dead panel at Comic-Con 2014 featured Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Michael Cudlitz, Emily Kinney, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Robert Kirkman, and some of the crew. They talked about season 5 and the journey the show has been both on screen and during production.

Yeah, based on that trailer, it doesn't look like things will go at all like I thought they would. Very interesting.

I was hoping they wouldn't give away any part of them getting out of the train car. They should have left it a complete cliff hanger until the first episode of the new season.

Yeah, because I honestly believed there was a chance that the entire season would take place in captivity and then they would all be murdered. lol

We all knew they were getting out. Nothing spoiled there. Although I do agree that I hate seeing previews. I want everything to be a surprise. I mean now it's obvious that they have to work with the Terminus crew in some capacity in a very uneasy relationship with them.

You got the message in my post! That's all that counts. :good!:

My fear was that Terminus would turn into another prison season. I'm thankful that appears to not be the case

I am too, but I find it odd that the previews reveal so much. It kind of makes last year's cliff-hanger a non-factor if you ask me.

I agree. They could have edited the season premiere differently. Maybe just have shown short Terminus clips.
