The Walking Dead

Currents could also sweep some towards you.

Sharks obviously are only even in play in an ocean scenario and even then aren't necessarily going to be a factor. If the story wanted to be written in such a way they could also make them unpalatable to sharks.

My only real point was that water, in and of itself, is not necessarily some "no chance of zombies/walkers" barrier.

Currents KEEP sweeping...prolly just avoid swimming...I seriously doubt that they'd write in HERDS entering the water en masse.

License plates, tires and AC units aren't palatable and they've been cut out of shark stomachs...our ocean vacuum cleaners aren't savvy about organizing taste tests...they usually swallow first...(giggity)...taste later. (Giggity giggity). :)

Earlier you made a reference to World War Z? Those zombies ran like Usain Bolt and made ladders of themselves up against buildings...different animals than the current subject matter.

They've shown walkers attempting to walk across streams. The one the Gov threw in a lake with cinder blocks just stayed there trying to get out too.

Of course once they came out the they would be so water logged I couldn't see them being much of a threat.

The one they pulled out of the well in S2 just split in two.

Things wash up all the time in places and they don't even have power of locomotion. If anything currents could actually help carry Walkers long distances. They are also followers so if one goes, or perhaps even falls in and then stands up and keeps walking others may join.

First, nice giggity, second sharks really aren't as wildly indiscriminate as often portrayed. It's not that certain incidents don't occur but the ocean isn't one giant and ongoing shark feeding frenzy either. Actually even if sharks were all that crazy they still aren't everywhere all the time. (I survived the beach for a week this year to prove it) More to the point we're talking about something a bit outside normal circumstance with the Walker virus. If writers wanted to make animals averse to consuming infected flesh that's easily on the table.

I specifically cited the World War Z book in my original post. The WWZ movie has practically nothing in common with the book, including it's use of "fast zombies".

So, just wanted to say...this thing with the passenger on the plane becoming infected is a FANTASTIC premise but I wish they would do it as a miniseries rather than the shorts. That would be some good damn television.

It appears that the way that the zombies have been WRITTEN so far in this series, that these won't function well with currents...kinda clumsy and unbalanced. If they smack up against an object, they push up against it until they get to meat. Hard to get traction when you're horizontal. I'm sure the main reason we haven't had the boat scenario is that it obliterates a lot of issues...and a zombie show without issues is a boring zombie show. :wink2:

This is almost certainly correct. :eek:k:

On the other hand loading up a big boat with a bunch of people then having somebody have a heart attack (or whatever) and being trapped on Walkertanic could be entertaining.

Solution probably resembles the land bound one...ginsu to the temple. :)

Back to boring.

In truth it'd be basically a retelling of the virus getting loose in the prison (where they thought they were safe) and changing it to a boat. (where they thought they were safe)

When you get right down to it there's only so many ways to tell a story.

I do now. :good!:

Hey, it's very easy to misread sarcasm over the internet. Indicators tend to help, /blue font, a well placed emoticon, etc.

If anyone complained that their show on a cable network "only" got a 14.63 rating, then they should be beaten with peanut butter protein bars.

Indicators ruin the joy of people missing sarcasm. Blue font is a FF thing...that's really all I need to say about blue font.

Lol

I came at it with "there is always a hater" angle, especially given all the people that complain at every slow episode.

So opinion on who's blasting the airhorn:

Father Gabriel

The Wolves

The Saviors (Negan's group)

Or somebody else...

What do y'all think?

Rosita and Father Gabriel were at the movies yesterday. almost couldn't recognize rosita in sweatpants and makeup-less.

What about the son of the drunk they buried. Rick appears oblivious to the fact that killing his father might affect the kid's demeanor toward him

I had that thought too. I wondered if the kid did it because he was mad at Rick. It's possible, but man it would be stupid knowing what he would bring to the town. I guess we'll find out tonight.
