The Volwave Stadium Idea

I was thinking something a little different. How about we all go the game, cheer really loud, win the game, then as we leave give each other high fives and celebrate the entire day long? This is a simple form of football fun and it is called winning the game and celebrating what happens on the field.

...and then we all take a half pint of Jack out and down it...:p

GO VOLS!

This is an idea I can get behind Roller. Though I always took bourbon to the games, except when we played KY of course, then I had to suffer through drinking Jack.

wait a minute--I've got an idea and its inexpensive! Not free, but relatively inexpensive.

We would need to raise a little money but it's doable.

here it is: At every gate, have cards to pass out..like the card sections of old. Every person who enters wearing orange gets a white card. Every person who enters wearing white gets an orange card.

Now, on cue, every person holds up the card they got when they entered. It immediately goes from white to orange and back. We would have a 100,000 person card section--maybe that's a record! (I'll call Mr. Guiness)

I don't know what it would cost to have 100,000 orange and white 24" x 24" cards, but we could find out and raise the money! (count me in for a saw buck)

so there you have it!
OH dang you already posted about the cards, disregard my previous post

Like your enthusiasm OP. We need to continue to support our Vols now more than ever. Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised that the crowd could pull off the orange and white checkboard design. This idea works because it involves only one action - buy an orange or white shirt and wear it to the game. While I really like the visual of your idea, it involves thought, coordination, and timing. Not sure any fan base could do that, maybe with the exception of Vandy. Their two fans could figure that out.

So I was thinking...yea, dangerous I know. What if when we checkerboard the stadium, (which was a hit nationally and locally) and we could make the colors flip from orange to white and make it seem as the colors dance in a way?
Solution: with proper arrangement, this could work, similar to the checkerboard look. Basically, each section alternated T-shirt’s, as the original idea, have the shirts be, front-orange and back-white in one section, and the next sections alternate, front-white, back-orange, then with a bit of proper timing (possibly led by a staffer or cheerleader) everyone turn a 180 degree turn, wait 5 seconds, then turn again 180 degrees. Turn to music maybe...but there is an acoustic issue, sound delay vs timing of a simotanious turning of 100,000 people is tough. So possibly each staffer/cheerleader has an earpiece? Even if the timing was a bit off, imagine how a wave of orange and white would look even a bit delayed! Also, this could be a lot of fun for the fans and very interactive if arranged properly.

So, I just wanted to share my rambling mind and see what Volnation thinks about my Volwave idea. Thanks guys! 🤙🏼
Read at work, snorted coffee out of my nose.

Oh lord, please let the season start so these threads stop or at least rapidly drop to the bottom. Amen.

this post gives much credence to the old theory.." you can't drink all day unless you start first thing in the morning"

Any kind of "Wave" is absolutely ridiculous and stupid. Should be banned from all sporting events.

Okay, how about this — when the band plays Rocky Top, only the west side WOOs. The east side, well, they just kinda don't do anything, like standing on principle or something. I guess after the song is over they can take the west side to task for it, maybe yell NO WOO! and then the west side yells WOO! and then it goes back and forth with a WOO!/NO WOO! thing until maybe one team scores and everybody remembers they're at a football game. But it was fun while it lasted.
