So I was thinking...yea, dangerous I know. What if when we checkerboard the stadium, (which was a hit nationally and locally) and we could make the colors flip from orange to white and make it seem as the colors dance in a way?
Solution: with proper arrangement, this could work, similar to the checkerboard look. Basically, each section alternated T-shirt’s, as the original idea, have the shirts be, front-orange and back-white in one section, and the next sections alternate, front-white, back-orange, then with a bit of proper timing (possibly led by a staffer or cheerleader) everyone turn a 180 degree turn, wait 5 seconds, then turn again 180 degrees. Turn to music maybe...but there is an acoustic issue, sound delay vs timing of a simotanious turning of 100,000 people is tough. So possibly each staffer/cheerleader has an earpiece? Even if the timing was a bit off, imagine how a wave of orange and white would look even a bit delayed! Also, this could be a lot of fun for the fans and very interactive if arranged properly.

So, I just wanted to share my rambling mind and see what Volnation thinks about my Volwave idea. Thanks guys! 🤙🏼

This seems like it would be way too complicated of an idea to ever pull off succesfully, also I doubt the university wants to supply 100,000+ t-shirts to fans

I hate this idea. Why would anyone do this? One big orange stripe is dumb. Remember 2002? No one wants 2002. The pant should have *TWO* thin orange stripes. That's the only right -- wait. Is this not about pants? I thought this thread was about the pants. Why aren't we talking about the pants? We're two weeks out, we need to be talking about the pants. And I need another bourbon. Hold on, I'll be right back.

Some of our fans are lucky to make it to their seats without a heart attack. Those rotund characters won’t be spinning in any type of synchronous fashion.

Why don't we all wear white t shirts with orange shirts on top. At the signal, we all start lifting the orange shirt up and down really fast, giving the WV players seizures. Please, no offense meant to anyone that has seizures of any kind....

This is a good idea.

And I'd like a seat in the co-ed section, just in case some of them grab too much shirt when they're lifting, and, well, you know. :)

Don’t get me wrong, I like the checker Neyland concept. It definitely looks cool, but beyond that I’m ready to be talked about nationally again because of football, not gimmicks. If we make national talks it needs to be because we are playing smash mouth football, not creating psychedelic patterns in the stands.

Are you by chance a shirt salesman trying to corner or create a market?
I can't recall seeing shirts that were orange and white opposite sides.

I’m in. Great idea. Don’t worry about the bitter fans. They have every right to be bitter even if it gets them nowhere.

It’s asking a lot of fans to buy more Vol apparel, they have lost their fire. After a few wins they will jump back on the wagon. Once the the weather gets better they will be back. Until then you get what you get.

Like I said, I’m in. Where do I get the shirt to wear?

wait a minute--I've got an idea and its inexpensive! Not free, but relatively inexpensive.

We would need to raise a little money but it's doable.

here it is: At every gate, have cards to pass out..like the card sections of old. Every person who enters wearing orange gets a white card. Every person who enters wearing white gets an orange card.

Now, on cue, every person holds up the card they got when they entered. It immediately goes from white to orange and back. We would have a 100,000 person card section--maybe that's a record! (I'll call Mr. Guiness)

I don't know what it would cost to have 100,000 orange and white 24" x 24" cards, but we could find out and raise the money! (count me in for a saw buck)

so there you have it!

We don't eve get the V-O-L-S chant right in the pregame because some assholes always speed up to fast at the end..

Yeah if your one of those people I despise you...

So not with CGI this is not possible..

and these 100,000 cards could be orange on one side and white on the other and periodically everyone quickly flip them at random--for a special effect! that would be crazy!

Nope. Too complicated with the risk of making our fans seem like the stereotypical dumb rednecks many think we are. The checker Neyland is as good thing as it is, don't fork it up.
