The Vols sell their allotment of tickets?

They were oversubscribed by 2x. You should probably go ahead and pay 71 times face for those you're looking at.

They'll be staying in Ocala I'm sure. 45 minutes south of Gainesville. I'm not sure which exact hotel though.

Maybe Tennessee is different. I'm sure the 45 minute drive is something teams don't like but I'd be pretty shocked if they were staying in Gainesville.

I would be too, Tennessee people have good taste and gainesville is just too nasty to really want to spend any unnecessary time there.

I know Florida stays in Turkey Creek when they play here which is about 20 minutes to campus. But I think there is more here than in Gainesville.

If you haven't been to Gainsville don't be surprised when you see where they seat the visiting fans. They don't have one section set aside for visitors like most teams. They scatter you out across the entire stadium in the worst seats possible so there is no way to generate any noise and to expose the visting fans to the maximum amount of Gator abuse.

I think the seating arrangement is one of the reasons for complaints in Gainsville that you don't get in other statdiums where you sit with other fans.

Two years ago my son and I were in the top row of the Touchdown Terrace - North end zone. It was all chair sets until you got to the top few rows and then it was bleachers with UT fans. We were leaning against the scoreboard speakers.

Basically over the years the Gator fans complained about certain seating arrangements and the AD decided from that point on all visting teams tickets will get the terrible seats. They killed 2 birds with one stone, their fans get better seats and the opposing teams fans are spread out thru the stadium nullifying crowd noise and support for their opponent.

I guess that you failed to notice that the visitors are given several rows of seats in the stands behind the visitors bench, between the 30-yard lines, on the East side of the stadium. Prime seats.

There is the set of seats that you received, the top few rows of the North End Zone, and the primary area for the visiting fans in the Southeast corner of the stadium.

They don't "scatter you out", there are 3 separate areas. One is prime. One is very good. One is nosebleed end zone. Fuss at your athletic department if you were given the crummiest seats that your ticket office had available to them. Maybe you just don't rate.

i went as a student for the last win down there... had lower level in the corner endzone... it was the james banks pre halftime hail mary game.... all the gator students stand on the bleachers and we were asked to not stand or be thrown out... and then repeatedly state troopers came to throw out UT fans who stood on the bleachers because the geriatric florida fans behind us said they couldn't see. we then asked why cant you get the students to stand down. the troopers response is that section isn't my problem. clearly the troopers just wanted to be jerks and do anything to ruin ut fans experience there!:furious3: nevermind none of the UT fans could see anything when the play was at the opposite end of the field!?!

Tennessee spreads you out just as much as Florida does. Only difference is Florida puts a very small percentage of the visiting fans behind the visiting bench.

While at UT the MAJORITY of away fans ARE behind their team's bench. It's been that way since at least '84 (my first season attending)

Edit: Sorry....not thinking clearly....away fans are closer to the UT bench.....but UT does "mass" that group into a sizable contingent that can make considerable noise, especially when UT is near them at the goal line. i

The majority of away fans in Neyland stadium are in the northeast corner of the stadium, and are closer to our bench rather than the visiting teams bench.

UT spreads out its visitors much more than Florida. As another poster mentioned, the main visitor section at The Swamp is in the SE corner near the tunnel where the visiting team enters the field. I'd estimate that 70% of visiting fans are in this section, with 15% sitting directly behind the bench and the remaining 15% in the north end zone nosebleeds.

The section for visiting fans in the lower bowl, NE corner of Neyland has gotten smaller and smaller over the years. There's a nice (but small) visitors block in AA or BB in the upper deck, but the main visitor section curves around the entire south end zone. Granted there are great views from the upper deck, but it appears that UT's visitor seating has gotten progressively worse since my first trip there in '94.

Tennessee people have good taste? News to me!

Here's some more:

1. The earth is round.
2. The earth orbits the sun not the other way around.
3. Personal hygiene is acceptable.
4. Jorts are so 1970s.
5. Men walked on the moon.
6. The Cold War is over.
7. The US beat the Russians in hockey for the gold medal in Lake Placid, NY.
8. The Red Sox actually won another world series.
9. Gravity was discovered!
10. Gators are soon to go back on the endangered species list.
