The Vols and Pruitt Will Get it Done

So sick of this. Every true fan has every right to react anyway they want after yesterday. For most of us it has been a rough 20 years almost and we have finally hit the breaking point.
I absolutely agree.

Some of the reactions I’ve seen on this board are just ridiculous. I really question if some of you are grown men or if you’re 6 year old at home got ahold of your key board. Yes, yesterday’s loss was one for the ages and one that is unacceptable. Pruitt and staff weren’t on the same page and it showed. However, to fire the man who has barely been there a year and who’s “recruits” are all freshman basically starting in their first game is ridiculous. Yesterday was not a good look, but let’s not act like we just didn’t come off the two worst seasons in school history. It amazes me how some of you thought bringing in Tee and Chaney would just magically transform our players into SEC stars. You can only do so much as coaches. Pruitt has proven over and over that he knows how to win as well as all of our coaches. If this staff can’t get the best out of our players I don’t know of a staff in the country that can. Sometimes you’re dealt the cards your dealt. Things aren’t going to change until his recruits get in here and are developed. That doesn’t happen over one summer with true freshman either. It takes time. That’s how far this program has went down. No one in the land besides Saban himself would have been able to land some of the players we’ve gotten with the way the two previous seasons have went. It’s been one game and all the fair weather fans have come out in droves. One game doesn’t define a season, and I fully believe the staff is going to work their tale off more so than they ever to right the ship. I really hope some of you so called fans really do jump ship. That will keep me from having to read some of the crap you post on this board. Oh yeah, take the negative Nancy “$9.99 insider” Big Gucci with ya.

Go Vols.

Hi Phil. Nice try.

Two words: Georgia State

By the way, firing CJP now would accomplish nothing. We are where we are.

I don't know about yall, but I wasn't expecting much this year anyway (in regards to beating anyone who matters). Yesterday is history. Next year is where we find out about this staff. I know it was an unacceptable loss, but nothing is going to change it. It's an embarrassment but we're going to have to grin and bear it.

Are we really gonna use the inexperience and Freshman excuse, tell me again how many FR/SO on the GA State Team? You can only utilize the same excuses for so long, Lyle was notorious for them. Secondly, I am curious as to how many stars each GA State player held at Recruitment. I know the GA State QB was only a 3 Star. I am not calling for Pruitt's firing and do have faith but not gonna sugarcoat the issues either. If he wants to win the hearts of Vols fans he needs to show some passion. I think many would have been more forgiving if he would have conducted the presser in a better fashion and shown some passion and how much the loss affected him or did it? His demeanor was disrespectful to the fans and those who support the program, without fans the program will die because tradition dies with generations. Today's kids do not know how great TN used to be and neither do they care.

If things doesn't change dramatically by next weeks BYU game then Tennessee will be losing a lot of money this year. This dampens the great fans desire to buy the tickets and the Tennessee Vols gear....It has to change drastically by Saturday

Pruitt is definitely in over his head! Additionally it appears that he has lost the team. The team is just going thru the motions not caring whether they win or lose. They are slow and lackadaisical! If you look at the film after some plays they are not concerned about the outcome! Most of the players have no sense of urgency which is a pure lack of motivation due to poor coaching and lack of discipline.

Go Vols.

Please explain how Pruitt has proven he knows how to win as a head coach. Touting all his wins as a coordinator doesn't count.

I honestly don't get this mentality. Yes, I want (and hope) Pruitt can pull it out because I am tired of fielding horrible teams and losing and do not want another coaching search that will put us right back here in 4 years waiting for the next guy to take 4 years to rebuild the program. But seriously... If you go to a very nice steakhouse, get the surf and turf and your lobster is rubbery, steak is overcooked and your salad looks like it was best used by the beginning of last week, would you seriously keep going back and getting the same product? I pay a lot for season tickets, a season taligate spot, beer, food etc for gamedays... I have a right to question what we fielded yesterday, because it was not TN football. I left after the first offensive series in the 3rd - too hot to sit through that garbage. Yes, I feel like I deserve more for what I pay - and I don't even come close to contributing as much as some people to the program.

As a loyal fan going on 50 years now, this has to be up there for me as the most embarrassing loss, period. I live in GA, and this is going to be hard to hide from folks on this. The entire team wasnt there except for a few players. But the defense should be ashamed to even have suited up for this. Seriously. JG is overrated, said it last year, will say it this year. He is not a QB that we need. I would rather go with the freshman than this BS again. I was hoping, maybe, just maybe, he would show some progress, but to allow Ga. St. to harass him over and over, and sure, the OL stunk it up too, but come on, he still cant read a corner blitz, and he thinks he is something he isnt, a great QB. He is average at best. With Jim Chaney in as OC, man we should be lighting it up, but with JG, no, Chaney has always had drop back passers, not ones that think they can run or RPO. I will be surprised if we win even 6 games, BYU isnt going to be easy, and maybe we beat Chattanooga, and thats sad to even think we might not be able to beat them. But, come Ga, and Ala, with a performance like that, blowouts in a bad way and just hope that those coaches will let up after they score 50 on this defense, in the first half.

Get what done exactly? Pruitt doesn’t even know where to begin. Keep supporting this clown show though. Lots of season tickets and parking passes for sale on CL so you can easily up your seating.
