This is a comment and an advisory to the entire VOL Nation. I am a Vol till the day I die (Class of 2004), but I currently attend law school at Cal Berkeley. For the last couple of years, I have been bragging to these PAC-10 fans about the tradition, glory and might of the SEC and, specifically, of the VOLS! As you are all well aware, we play the exceptionally overrated Cal Golden Bears for this year's season opener. Given our less than spectacular season last year, we need to make sure that the Vols have every weapon at their disposal for this very important game. The outcome of this game could define the season, and potentially set the pace for a great Tennesseee comeback in the SEC and in the national rankings. I hope beyond all hope that we will pull through and show those PAC-10 fans what REAL football is.
Having attended one Cal game personally (I rooted for Stanford), I must share some insider information. Their fans are unusually loud and active for a mediocre program in one of the weakest conferences in the country. They spend the entire game doing chants with coordinated hand movements and such. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE spread the word to the student body and to the people in charge at VOL Nation. Make sure that when the Golden Bears show up, we, as fans, will not be outdone. I know that season openers don't usually garner the attendance that the Florida game does, but please, do not neglect the importance of this game. Please make sure that we are no less loud, excited, and coordinated than our opponents. Make sure that the VOLS have our undying and unwavering support regardless of how the game is going.
WE ARE THE MIGHTY VOLS! Let's make this one count!
Don't know how weak the Pac 10 really is, but interesting post nonetheless.
