Since we have so many "foodies" on here thought a recipe thread might be interesting and I really want a good steak recipe.

Anyone have a steak recipe that they just love and want to share with me? :)

How do you eat your steak? No offense to rednecks but recipes don't matter on steaks that are cooked well-done.

Go to Ruth's Cris Steak House. Order New York Strip. Marinate yourself until served. Eat. Enjoy.

That's cutting it close VolGal.:)

Do you have an aversion to medium? Hot pink center, still no red.

No no aversion to it. I will eat it med-rare. I just prefer medium well. First time I ever had it rare was in NY at Sardi's. Boy was I surprised to cut into that baby!

Medium rare baby!!!

Marinate a ribeye in 1 part worchestire, 2 parts Moore's; but not before rubbing with garlic salt, season salt, and pepper

Anything over medium is too done, but well done is a waste of a good cut of meat.

Whatever your choice of cut (I like T-bone or poterhouse with a large loin side), try marinating in a mixture of olive oil, garlic salt, and pepper for a couple hours. Then use a hot grill turning only once.

Personally, I don't like my steaks marinated. With that said, I am forced to prepare certain items a certain way for others. I prefer this marinade with chicken and salmon, but it works really well on beef too.

1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/3 cup Captain Morgan rum
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar (packed)
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup minced spanish onion
Juice of 1/4 of a lemon

Add "about" to all of the measurements... hahah I suck at them. I eyeball most everything and add to taste. Put whatever you are marinating in a ziplock bag and then the marinade. Put it in the fridge for at least 4 hours.

Gee I wonder why you don't like steaks marinated. The steak flavor would be hidden with this would it not? Sounds good for fish though.

I just made RV, in her opinion, the best steak she has ever eaten, anywhere. She did the dry rub all I did was grill it with high heat charcoal and soaked wood chips. Ask RV what she seasoned with. I think only salt and pepper. The salt is applied to brine the steak to be more tender.(at least 4 hours prior to cooking).
