I really want to bitch about the refs but all in all they were not an issue tonight.
The TO was the only thing questionable and it was probably the right call.

Lost 5 of the last 7.

If your offense consists of passing back and forth 30 feet from the basket and limited penetration, you can't complain about the refs....

They called a foul everytime we touched the ball for the first 5 minutes of the second half. And apparently you can call timeout when you don't have possession

This team is donzo I’m afraid. No real urgency. Let’s just stand around and pass the ball around the perimeter. Drive and then pass it back out.

Barnes not calling a timeout was dumb. Like mind numbing dumb. He has a bad tendency to not use timeouts well. Other team on a run, no timeout, 16 second left and a chance to tie, no timeout. It drives me crazy.

What was he going to do, draw up an effective offensive play?

Better than nothing. Which is what he did. Barnes has been great for us but I’m definitely frustrated by use of timeouts and our usual early dismissal in the tournament.

Oh I know. The loses are just getting to me. We’ve had a very bad stretch of games, blame it on whatever but it’s still bad. And after last years bad loss and what will likely be an early exit this year I think we should consider looking in another direction.

Again Barnes has been great for us, his regular season record speaks for itself but his tournament record isn’t great. Of course things could be worse and it’s not like there’s a lot of coaches with great march madness records looking for a job.

White shall execute a smooth transition at the right time. Barnes shall retire, ever appreciated by the Big Orange faithful for resurrecting the program, and the new coach shall build the program to greater heights.
