Michigan fans lost their collective mind last year when the Wolverines went 3-9. Rich Rod caught hell from the mouthbreathers who babble about "tradition" and "The Michigan Way." Now, they're on their way to being 3-0 with great freshmen and sophomores running all over the field. There's a lesson to be learned there for Tennessee fans with an IQ higher than the average October daily high in Portland, ME.

Lots of folks secretly hoping that Kiffin will fail, including some on this board. I hope we are patient enough for him to get his own players on the field. But I fear for some trying times.

My thoughts exactly, Hat. If we can keep reeling in recruits and maintain the excitement through what looks to be a pretty tough season (or two), I believe we will be ready to compete with the upper-echelon of the SEC by 2011.

Very true on the patience part, but I am not sure a win over a mediocre Notre Dame means Michigan is back.

2011 and 2012 will be outstanding years for us.

If we can be decent next year, the home schedule is sweet..

No doubt about it....you can't expect things to turn around over night.

Petey Carroll's Trojans got off to a 2-5 start in 2001....Saban dropped a home game to UL Monroe on his way to a 6-loss regular season...

Gots to give it time.

Next year is going to be rough. Losses on d-line and o-line with probably a frosh qb.

I wish i could rip van winkle it up for a few years.

3-9 though would be an absolute train wreck to watch and would have most of us questioning CLK. I'm hoping for at least a bowl berth for the practice time if nothing else.

Next year will be better than this year. Book it.

Are you saying losing Crompton will hurt us? I sure hope not...

Patience of the fan base is one of the most important factors in whether or not this is going to be successful.

If we act like a bunch of Alabama fans, we can count on having a "Crimson Coaching Carousel," and be mediocre at best for the next decade.

No, Im saying that losses on our lines may make up for anything we gain at qb.

I think next year will be better too. But just better, not good.

wrong, next year will be worse, look at who we lose. Freshmen are great, but not in the line.

Our current OL sucks anyway. Losing them won't hurt, even if we have to play several younger players. Just wait until you see the JUCO OL we get. The OL play will be much improved in 2010.
