The UT admin needs to understand

that UT fans are tired of losing to Alabama every year...

...Go Vols

I hear 'ya, CV. Preach it!

But for me, it's UF. Then Bama. I guess I'm in the minority there.

Yes, I remember when we owned Bama. And when we pretty much owned UF. But for me, it's still UF as Public Enemy #1, for one very simple reason:

Steve Spurrier. The Tennessee native who went to UF; won the Heisman trophy; went into coaching; beat UT at Duke; then went to UF and spent most of his time there beating UT, jabbing Fulmer at every opportunity, and dropping well-timed digs at UT for everything from our November record to the Citrus Bowl.

For me, it will always be UF. And Spurrier. My river of contempt for all things UF runs just as deep as does yours for Bama.

And in the end, this year we finally broke the streak against UF, and it warms my heart to think that Spurrier punched out last year right before the UT game. In the end, we pi**ed on his coaching grave, and then this year we finally beat the cockiest team east of Tuscaloosa. Sweet times, those.

Some day, my brother, we will break the curse of Bama as well. Some day, the heavens will part, the angels will sing Rocky Top adorned in glowing orange and white robes, and John Adams, in a moment of complete personal insanity, will write something positive about UT football.

When that day comes, we will celebrate together.

Until then, I feel your pain.

Live long, and prosper.

Go Vols.

Nick Saban and Matt Mauck destroyed and forever cursed UT's football program 15 years ago.

UT is happy with a 8-4, a decent bowl game, and no big scandals. They have never shown the slightest hint that they are willing to pony up and compete with Saban. His program is heads and shoulders above everyone else. They might care if we were the only SEC team that couldn't compete with him, but no one else can either.

I would like to start just by being on top of the East. We either lose to FL beat everyone else. Beat FL and lose to SC and Vandy. CBJ an dc staff have botched that 2 yrs in a row. Fact!

As a Bama fan, I would like to comment. I moved up here in 1987 looking forward to adopting Tennessee as my 2nd team. Down south we hate Auburn, Tennessee is a fellow SEC school to be treated as a respected rival.

After living here for a short time and experiencing the hatred spewed by Tennessee fans toward Bama, it was just impossible for me to cheer for the Volunteers. So now, I am just like other Bama fans living in TN, I'm not a big fan of the orange.

As some others have noted, don't blame Alabama for seeking the same things that TN wants.

I understand your anger, but dang man they have a NFL minicamp over there in Tuscaloosa. I hate Alabama as much as anybody, and I am also tired of Tennessee not getting its share of respect and success, but what do you do? Alabama has built a dynasty. Six years in a row with the #1 recruiting class and it seems like no matter who gets injured or is drafted they always have another stellar playmaker to step up. They aren't just beating up on Tennessee, they are beating up on the country. I feel like the only thing we can do is sit and wait until it ends. I hate them, but I respect Nick Saban.

Anyways I assume you're alluding to the fact that we need to open the bank and go pay whatever it takes to get a proven winner and staff. I agree. We need somebody who can give us a Xs and Os advantage until our depth and talent level can catch up. Then create our own dynasty and go on a run of our own.

Agreed he isn't just whooping us, it's anybody and everybody that lines up against them.

He is getting ready to whoop Washington's azz and then whip the winner of Clemson vs Ohio St azz for the NC.

Even if you had the money to offer 20 million a year, who is really out there thats on his level? I don't see anyone.

We just haven't figured out how to laundry money from the state and boosters and keep it hidden.

Amirite

Jealousy and envy are the motives for the hatred of bammer success. Also many have also seen all the cars and $ with cruits and players especially earlier in Saban bammer yrs. And nothing from the NCAA. Also with the officiating in games where it favors bammer...especially in big games.

On top of that....I know their are AL transplants bc of Nashville and Ft. CAMPBELL but there are more wagon fans around ( N Middle TN) than I've ever seen. Then they put their KY blue on in the winter. Makes.it worse lol

I wish the old school folk would understand the younger folk could care less about playing Alabama every year. Cancel the series and play a rotating opponent. Giving ourselves an automatic SEC loss every year kills our SEC title hopes.
Oh Elizabeth !

So is every other school that plays them except Ole Miss.

This. A man who was coaching high school in 2004 and Arkansas State in 2011 has found a way to beat Saban regularly. It's not an impossible task, it just takes the right coach at the right time.

I get so frustrated hearing "no one will ever beat Saban at Alabama" and that's loser talk. Any team in the SEC, except Vandy, has the ability to be consistent title contenders with the right coach in place. Even the MS schools have caught lightning in a bottle recently and have both been ranked #1 in the country.

We want a new coach, we can't beat Bama, says

USC
Western Kentucky
Ole Miss
Kent State
Kentucky
Arkansas
Tennessee
Texas A&M
LSU
Mississippi State
Chattanooga
Auburn
Florida
Wisconsin
Middle Tennessee
ULM
Georgia

whine, whine, whine

and yes I know the importance of the Bama game (watched TN in the 60's and went there in the 70's). But if you are like a lot on here who are upset because your friends give you a hard time about losing, and you are a long time fan (which means you are old), then you need to grow up and worry about things that are really important.

.

Unless recruiting has a cataclysmic drop off at BAMA, I don't see us beating them anytime soon. We had a shot last year to pull off a rare win. After the drubbing of the worst kind at their hands this year, we are clearly light years behind them. It's Bama and then everyone else as long as Saban is there and continues to do what he does.

The other hope that you have is that most of their players will not stay there four years, just like Kentucky basketball, they are all 5* and will leave early.
The other problem is that to get to the NC game you normally have to beat them twice in one year.
