Why does work have to get in the way of Friday?

I'm in favor of 4 day(or less) work weeks.

They tried that here. It was stopped when they discovered people were not keeping the same schedule. Monday - Thursday one week, the Tuesday - Friday the next, or take every Wednesday off. If the schedules were consisted it would be fine, the real problem developed in small departments where no one would show up.

Yeah, same here. Tough for us because we are so small. Only about 25 of us here. Everybody pretty much has their own job. No way to work it all out.

There was an offer on the table for some, to work a 4 day week at 80% pay. One lady did it for a while, but our boss asked/told her she couldn't do it anymore.

It was 4, 10 hour workdays here. Mandatory 1 hour lunch.

Never in the cards with me. Wouldn't get to see the kids, especially during the school year.

It's equal to 1 days pay a week, still working 8hrs a day. We don't have a mandatory lunch. I just work 8 hrs and fit in enough time to eat whenever I can.

The 1 hour was only mandatory if you worked the 4 day, 10 hour schedule.

I have been trying to convince my boss the benefits if 4 10's.

We have 4 in our office and have to have the office covered M-F 8:30 to 5:30.

2 get Monday and 2 get Friday off.

Boom! Instant morale improvement!

Plus, the odds of me beating the snot out of one of my co-workers goes down.

Same here, if I eat out, there are plenty of places to walk to downtown.

It's hard to eat healthy here when they bring in Mellow Mushroom, BBQ, adn whatever else every time you turn around. Not to mention breakfast from Chic-Fil-A or Panera...

Our overall department tries to do lunch and learn sessions and department get togethers. The only problem is the majority of the department is an hour behind and in TFG's city.
