1. Another spot where UT was up by fifteen, ready to close it out, and couldn't. They made dumb fouls, stopped going inside, and made dumb plays. That's frustrating to watch. Stokes getting his fourth foul with 8 minutes to go did affect it.

2. Before we all panic, let's not forget that Okie State almost lost to Akron before. This team doesn't have its most consistent player in Maymon. They played well for 32 minutes and deserved the win. The big issue they have to stop fouling so much. UNCA shot way too many free throws.

3. Bernard King Player of the Game: Kenny Hall. Hall was very active on both ends. He showed nice offensive moves down low. Made a coupled dumb plays, but the positive definitely outweighed the negative today. Had 14 points, 8 boards, took a charge and two blocks. Played pretty decent defense tonight. Very good game from him.

4. UT's offense continues to look better. They had nice spacing and hit the outside shot. McRae, Richardson, and Golden attacked the basket today and got Hall/Stokes easy looks. One problem is when the ball goes in the post, they stop. They need to cut more. They are just looking for the jump shot, or catch and drive.

5. Tennessee's D is good, except when the driver gets into the lane. For some reason, UT's D just is poor right now at helping out. They do well on pick and rolls, ball handoffs, preventing the driver in getting to the lane, but when they do, the posts are late and aren't doing well in forcing UNCA into a bad shot.

6. Josh Richardson has really improved his game. His shot looks ten times better than last year. He attacked the basket with a purpose. His D, again, was really good. Going to be fun tomorrow watching him and Marcus Smart go at it.

7. Really got nothing from Skylar McBee today, and Jordan McRae, while he did nothing spectacular, just played solid throughout. Not saying that McBee should lose his starting spot by any means, but Jordan should continue to see big minutes, especially when Skylar is off and struggling to get shots like today. McRae adds a dimension to your offense McBee doesn't have.

8. Only seven assists today. Not enough ball movement IMO. The offense, at times, looked stale. Golden did a good job driving and dishing, but the posts didn't get open looks for the guards like they did Friday night.

9. UNCA had 18 points off turnovers. Tennessee had 14 turnovers today, and that's still too much. Lazy passes and not handling the double teams were part of that. I also will say I thought UNCA got some calls, especially down low. They shot 29 free throws today and hit 21, and really was the main reason they stayed in the game. But UT has to better at not fouling.

10. Just like Friday, the score was closer than it appeared. UT had the game won, it was just frustrating it going down to 8-10, and not inflating to 18-20. UT again had a bad stretch for five minutes in the second half and it got UNCA back in it. Tennessee can still win the championship, but it has to tighten up their game in order to accomplish that. Stop making silly fouls, limit the turnovers, and go inside to the post for 40 minutes.

this team has no pure shooters. No one to step into a jump shot if left open and sink it. Until we find guys like that that can get into a rhythm, it will be rough for us. We have to force every shot.

Really thought Edwards looked good. If Hall can be this consistent every night I really like the combination of Stokes Maymon Edwards and Hall down low.

Also, good news: UT won the rebounding advantage 34-22. Much better tonight.

Martin shouldn't be happy with giving up such a high FG%.

What is this team's identity? Defense? Rebounding? Shooting? Where is the differentiator that they will rely on to win close games?

That's going to happen when your defensive rotation by your posts is late.

Before maymon's injury, it was going to be the Bruise Brothers. Right now? Stokes...then what?

Golden needs to take on a bigger role.

What's everyone upset about? Balanced scoring, shot 50% from the field, and won. Move on to next game.

I wish I knew too. Most didn't watch the game before that went into OT. Most of these people just don't understand that it's the 2ND GAME!!!

- Too many TOs.
- Not enough assists.
- Didn't close out an inferior opponent for the second time in as many games.
- Love to get that out of Kenny every game. Pardon my skepticism for not believing we will
- Richardson looks much improved offensively.
- Q looks like a shadow of the player we saw against Victory.
- Team defense looks good on court at times, but some numbers seem to suggest otherwise.
- Rebounding was a huge difference in our favor.

Although Okie State struggled with Akron, Akron is a top 100 team according to Pomeroy's pre-season projections. It'll be an interesting game tomorrow. With the 'Poke's starting center out, Jarnell should be able to run amok tomorrow.

Good thing there's a 10:30 am tip for this thing so all the working stiffs can't enjoy it!

Didn't catch the contest, how was Ashvilles defensive pressure?
Did they man us? Zone us? How did the backcourt handle it?

A great post game report...it tells everything except who won.
