The UK Game

Cleary.

UK played without a QB and pretty much everyone knew they would run 99% of the time with Roark...you gave him 100+ yards and couldnt stop him.

weak stance, imo. The point of the read option is that you know they'll run, however the QB's job is to read the play of the defense and determine direction and whether or not to pitch. Knowing they'll run it doesn't mean you'll give up no yards, it just means you'll know you have to stop a run. You know Oregon will run the ball, but they get their points anyway. Holding an offense you didn't plan for to 10 points is commendable in my book. Had we had a legitimate running game, we'd have put up better offensive numbers.

A real impressive showing against Ky, I'd say. Great defensive effort, and the wind stopped our offense.

Two plays cost us that game. The horrible non-fumble call and the pick that Tyler threw. We may have had a 26 year run against UK but people forget that in 2007 and in 2009 - UK took us to OT before UT eked out a win. 2010 was a rough and tumble battle and Uk took us to the fourth - in Neyland. People also forget that UK is loaded with seniors (same as that ****ty team called vandy) and UT is loaded with freshman and sophomores.

I am getting so sick of negaturds bringing up the UK game. It was bound to happen sooner than later. We got it out of the way. This UT team was beat all to hell after playing THE TOUGHEST SCHEDULE IN THE TOUGHEST CONFERENCE IN THE NCAA WITH THE YOUNGEST TEAM. Let the biatches begin their biatching. Who's first?

You keep bringing this up for some reason. Where does this mindset come from that all seniors are automatically better than freshman and sophomores? Senoirs aren't the only ones who have talent. You do know that, right?

Also, you say UK took us to overtime in '07 and '09, but you do realize that both of those UK teams were bowl eligible, and unlike the '11 squad, actually had a QB on their roster? It's an apples and oranges comparison.

Just like I asked you in the other thread, you say the team was so beaten down by the end of the season, so how did we manage to beat a far better Vandy team the week before?

Wrong. You knew Roark would run after the first drive...and still couldnt stop him. If not for the 50 yard bomb, 10-0.

It was a good game. Dont see why you have to bring up a touchy subject :)

Excuses. Dont like the SEC? Get out. Kentucky sucks in the SEC and they dont care.

Pathetic topic. We got beat in every phase of the game. The wind has nothing to do with it.

Thank you shooting down these pathetic EXCUSES, for they are nothing more than that. Even if the weather was diabolic as they say, the UK had to play in it too. Whether they opted not to pass but to fry and serve the ball as an oven roasted Butterball turkey breast or passed wind whenever we threw the ball doesn't matter. WE LOST. While I believe our guys literally gave the game away and on purpose doesn't mater either, we simply lost. To be beat by a freaking WR playing QB is the height of embarrassment. It serves to show how low we've sunk and how high we need to climb. excuses won't do a d*^$ thing in changing that reality. So Aesius, I'm your corner and the rest of you who can't see the truth for what it is only compound the shame of the lost and make Vol fandom look as pitiful as some Gator, Bama, Bulldog fans say.

One-dimensional on offense, your QB not at 100% then the weather is difficult to throw in is a recipe for disaster and that's what happened. You expect your OC/HC to come up with a different game plan, either short passes or screens, something they could complete.

On defense, why not put 8 men on the LOS and force Ky to throw it with their WR converted to QB?

Without a drastic weather concern, we would have been putting up huge numbers. What sucks about that is that you can't gameplan for heavy wind. You can look at the weather on Wednesday and say, "It's gonna rain a lot. We need to work in a lot of runs." With wind, you can't really know it'll happen til it does.
