We are a average team with a average coach. It hurts because phillip fulmer took us to the top and he took us to the bottom and kiffen burried us. Dooly has done all he could but it seems Tennessee will never be what it was. What bothers me is Bill Snider comes back to K state and they win like he never left and we just slide into what we never was a losing team in the sec.

You should be pissed - If that were Florida out there I would be. That team gave up and that is squarely on the coach. I told my wife in the 4th quarter that they just quit.. had like 7 minutes left on the clock. the way there are able to sling it around the yard they should have been slinging it until the end.

Not trying to flame here, just saying, it's top down in football.

Nothing wrong with being average as long as you are showing improvement. What we saw tonight was one team that believed in their game plan completely and another that sort of bought in but weren't too sure. I am really questioning commitment at this point which reflects poorly on the coaches.

It really hurts but look at the Stanford vs USC game if you want a little pick-me-up. Funny you should mention Kiffen cause it looks like his "predicted" undefeated season is gonna end tonight and that makes me feel a little warm inside. Also, Johs Nunes is the QB...the one that was a UT commit at one point in time.

The truth does hurt. This Florida team limped in here with half of their defense on the sideline from injuries. They were completely outclassed from a talent perspective. And they still managed to humiliate us. If we can't beat a crappy Florida team when we have the tools, how the hell are we going to beat them when they have healthy talent? I took a wait and see approach. I have waited, I have seen, Dooley is not the guy.

Agree. Dont know who's next to coach the Orange, but we are in need of a change....

You are right guys. All of us sitting in the stands saw it including the Gator fans around us. They wanted to win badly, but their fans were fun and really felt for us when the team quit. Bray keeps chunking it at Hunter. The only WR that did his job for what little they used him was Z-Rogers. This was embarrassing and humiliating - and I will not be fooled again by the hype and big talk. Hope they enjoy their half empty stadium for the Akron Zips.

Won't be many people there. Akron kicked someone's butt pretty bad today. Wouldn't be surprised if they made a game of it.....

Maybe you should check the ialent level at Florida again. Thier lines pushed us around, thier injured defense stuffed us all night, and thier unknown qb beat us like a stepchild. So who had the most talent? Tell you what, let St Saban pick either team to hit the sec and see which one he chooses. It won't be a pass happy bunch of prima donnas who have read too many of thier own effing press clippings. We ran up the stats against inferior competition, and we got stars in our eyes. WE AREN'T THAT GOOD. Good teams get up when they get hit in the mouth, and fight back. We have a few warriors, just not a team of them. Is Dooley the problem? Don't know. Will "opening the checkbook" solve it? Don't know that either. Name a coach that will run to a place that has the smallest recruiting base in the SEC, a fickle fan base that quits at the drop of a hat, has to coach against a league so damn good, if he wins the conference, hes going to be in the BCS title game, and he has to guarantee a winning record against Bama, fla, LSU, Georgia, (who all have great facilities, tradition, academics, AND a tremendous home state recruiting base to mine. ) Got a long list, don't ya. We have fallen a long way, for lots of reasons. It will take a long time to get back, if we ever do. It will take longer if we're stupid about what we need, whether its players, coaches or time. In the meantime, we need to support good faith efforts as we hold them accountable.

This is just stupid! Are you more of a kiffen hater or UT fan? Just because they lost doesn't make me feel any better about our team quiting. And just being honest they still will have a better year so can't feel good about that!

We had the talent to not get humiliated by a mash squad. Get off your high horse with all of your ridiculous excuses. The right coach can definitely make the diffrence in all of the aspects you ranted about. And as for supporting "good faith efforts," you are kidding yourself. This team is a bunch of weak minded quitters. That is on the coaching staff. Saban's players don't quit on him, and they never will. As big a doofus as Muschamp is, his players are mentally tough enough to go to two tough away games and beat one while embarrassing the other. I'm sick of it. The only solution is a top down cleaning. Keep Jay Graham. Get rid of the rest.

I will never be hyped again. Fell for it too many times. We suck when it comes down to big games and cant beat ranked teams until proven otherwise.

Not making excuses. Just didn't believe all the hype of how good we were before the game. Agreed, they did quit, (most, anyway). Just saying Fla has better athletes (still) than we do. Again, if we fire Dooley,
(and Im not totally against that,) who would you take you UT blank check to, and reasonably expect them to accept? Im serious, and I expectyou to be. Whos the man for the job?

The man for the job is whoever Dave Heart has 100% confidence in. I don't get paid millions of dollars to pick candidates, but I think I am reasonably qualified to observe that Dooley can't do the job. I love the guy, think he is great at recruiting, evaluating talent, runs a good clean program, and gets good character guys. The one thing that he can't do, unfortunately, is put together a winning team.

The hell he does after losing to Kentucky and being embarrassed by the most beatable Florida team in the last decade. Dooley's days are definitely numbered as the HFC at UT.
