'I don't know if there is much of a legacy, man.' 'I'm not saying that to be disrespectful. I don't know if people are going to remember this class for what we did b/c we didn't do much.' - Tauren Poole

As much as we as a collective have bashed Poole, I feel bad for him and this entire senior class. The turmoil they went through I wouldn't wish on anybody. Maybe Poole isn't a top SEC running back, but he did stick it out through three coaches and tried his best.

these guys should be given a round of applause at the vandy game. what they have gone through is ridiculous. and the fact that they are still here giving their all for Tennessee says a lot about our young guys. Poole might not even be an average RB but that dude is all class and has done what he could. Go Vols!!!

P.S. Rex bringin the heat today

I would also include Matt Simms in this. He truly gave his all for Tennessee. He wasn't a good quarterback by any means, but you have to admire the toughness of the guy.

This is probably the worst class that I can remember following UT over 30 years. There might have been a worse one, but I can't remember it. I had a sinking feeling that this class was going to come back to bite us back in 2008. Little did I know that the 2007 and 2009 classes would implode as well leaving a gaping hole at the top end of our roster. Little did they know that they'd play for 3 different head coaches in a very contentious atmosphere. It's not their fault but it is their legacy.

They stayed when it would have been easier to leave. I would like the fans in attendance to express their appreciation for that fact at the very least.

These men will take something from UT that no other class has taken before them...victory in the face of adversity. Victorious by just keeping the faith and giving their all for Tennessee!!!

They've probably had the worst player experience any group of kids have had at UT. The ones that stayed the whole time, and did what they could, have my respect. I sure can't say the same for some of the fans that have followed them the last four years.

Stuck it out, really didn't ***** through awful adversity and came to play. The talent and youth issues really weren't of their doing. I'm a fan of all of them.

Very glad to see the overwhelmingly positive sentiments on this thread.

I hurt for this senior class, the ones who remain have earned our respect just through finishing their careers here.

Not quite what they expected when they put the orange hats on four years ago, is it?

Nothing but respect for those guys.

Poole wears the torch patch for a reason. He may not play on Sundays, but he'll do fine in life.

Like everyone else, I am a big fan of these seniors. Maybe the toughest 4-5 years ever for a player at Tennessee and they stuck it out and played hard. It wasn't easy for any of us, but it was a lot harder for them. My wish is for them to go out in a blaze of glory...even if it's a small blaze....by winning the rest of their games as seniors.

Yep. As hard and critical as I've been on Poole, he's one of the best ambassadors of the program. Would like to see him back on the sidelines in orange one day. I think he's got the noggin' to be a good coach.

What would a normal average number of seniors on scholarship graduating from a team per year. About 20 to 30 (based on the 85 scholly limit)? How many do we have not counting walk ons? I could look on the roster, but I don't know who is scholly and who is walk on.

I counted only 13 on the roster. There are 3 or 4 who play very little. This speaks volumes about what they have been going through. :salute:
