The Truth about Juan Jennings?

If Jennings hadn't been hurt and moved back to QB at the start of the season the Vols beat Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and possibly Mizzou. Butch Jones is still the head coach.

Not. Stop feeding the young man's ego. That is what caused this in the first place.

Mizzou wouldve steam rolled us with Peyton Manning at QB.

Oh he was promised to play QB he came here saw Dobbs was better balled out at WR was going to burn a medical redshirt to give his all to the vols then sees the other QB's are hurt him being a QB and was promised a shot wasn't given one over hurt QB's . He was lied to and there is a trend here .

BS - now you are making things up. He could have stayed at QB to start with and competed - but he didn't.

He could have supported this team while hurt - but he didn't.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thought his father was a coach, how did he turn out like this?

His father is a coach - a very good one, by the way - and a good man. I can only imagine how he reacted to this kind of behavior.

I don't know what is going on in Jennings's head, but this was an incredibly stupid move. Like you said, why not wait it out, when you already know that this coaching staff will be gone next year?

Of course, his sister also quit the Kentucky women's basketball team to transfer to South Carolina, so you have to wonder if these two missed out on the perseverance and commitment lectures at some point in their childhood.

Vanderbilt players posted a vulgar video against Butch Jones and TN a few years ago. All four players were kicked off the team with two of them being expelled. Unfortunately, Jennings made a horrible decision and it has cost him, his family and his teammates a lot. Sad.

While you’re dreaming, put him at safety also so they can beat Georgia and Bama.

High 5. I completely agree.

Social media's gift to an impetuous 20 year old is the ability to amplify one's voice AND ones liability in moments. But WAS JENNINGS WRONG? Did this staff lie to it's players? Was he wrong to ask for a better coach (and for ANYONE on this board dare to judge him for that?)?

He shouldn't have said it so publicly but he is now screwed. I don't see how he gets dressers and he has to wait two years to get back on the field. After missing a year.

But let's look at something more bothersome... WHO IN THE HE*L ALLOWED JIMMY HYAMS TO WRITE THAT HATECHET PIECE OF YELLOW JOURNALISM FOR THE A DEPT??

I haven't had time to look through all if the threads but it's no one bothered by a mouthpiece for the athletic department destroying a college students career? Look at this quote:

"Jennings is apparently fighting some demons. He has anger management problems. He has a volatile personality. He has tested positive for drugs at least once at UT.

It’s obvious to me that Jennings needs professional help."

WTF? Jennings needs to call a lawyer. If there are any lawyers here who can tell me why Jennings couldn't use this trash article as a means to be reinstated, let me know.

I have never seen an objective journalist make such spiteful, definitive declarations. To sum up, Hyams -

OUTED JENNINGS AS A CHRONIC DRUG USER

CALLED HIM A TERRIBLE TEAMMATE WITHOUT INTERVIEWING, YOU KNOW, A TEAMMATE. HIS ONLY SOURCES ARE THOSE DOING DAMAGE CONTROL FOR THE AD.

NEVER DETERMINED IF JENINGS WAS WRONG ABOUT HIS CLAIMS, REGARDLESS OF HOW IT WAS PHRASED.

NEVER INTERVIEWED JENNINGS

HYAMS SAID -

But for every great play, he seemed to draw an unsportsmanlike penalty and engage in scuffles with opponents

WHERE WERE THESE PENALITIES THAT OVERSHADOWED HOW AWESOME AND TOUGH OF A PLAYER THIS KID IS??

I know this is long but this situation is BS. When I watched that kid play I saw someone who was pushing the rest of the team (especially coaches) to take the game as seriously as he did.

HYAMS IS A HACK AND A BUM. I never had much of an opinion on him before besides thinking he was smug but this is just wrong. I've never seen such a blatent hatchet.

So you are saying the off the field stuff shouldnt matter because he is a good player? I disagree.

Not so fast. With better QB play, several of the games were winnable. It's hard to overcome a too conservative game plan. We run base defense to often as well. We have been playing checkers.

I'm lost on who is right and wrong with all these stories coming out about the staff lying and being verbally abusive towards the players. Not saying JJ is in the right but there is a lot of #hit going down right now so let the smoke clear.

I don't do social media. I'm sure a lot of you follow every player. Just wondering how many have come to Jennings defense.

Too many were condoning his actions on Twitter and starting campaigns. I truly believe that uproar lead to the second article.

Neither approach is really helpful to Jennings. Those supporting were generally those who have always had an agenda against Jones. Interestingly enough they are guilty of the same thing they say this coaching staff was guilty of - looking the other way because of how good the player is.
