I saw a lot of opinions regarding Jennings and his instagram. A lot of posters talking about how he should never have been dismissed by an interim, including Mr. Rucker and others.

Truth is, it usually takes a couple of days for the real story to come out. Fact is, Mr. Jennings has always been a loose cannon and a drag to team attitude and focus. In other words, he was a bad seed. Currie made the right decision.

Report: Tennessee WR Jauan Jennings left practice after he wasn't allowed to play QB

And don't forget the link to Jimm H.:

Jimmy’s blog: Tennessee makes right call to dismiss Jennings | WNML-AF

Look what this grown adult is repeating, from inside-sources, about players:

"One coach on the UT staff told me Jennings was one of the three hardest players on the team to manage, given his peculiar and unpredictable behavior." "Is that the type student-athlete the Vol Nation wants representing their school?"

Woww. Quite the persuasive argument Jim.

Ok, maybe this can be viewed as like interviewing a child, regarding things going on by the parents in the house when no other adults are around. Sometimes, maybe, you have to overlook the child's English (use-off/proper or improper), and just get to the meat-n-bones of what they're really trying to communicate is the problem:

“It ain’t nothing to do with no players,’’ Jennings said of Tennessee’s 4-7 season. “It ain’t nothing to do with no (expletive) injuries (expletive). It’s straight (expletive) coaching.’’

Jennings also said: “The coaching staff is holding us back. Please, Tennessee, send us a great (expletive) coaching staff.’’

Jimmy: What's going on, in this Dept, with and by the coaches, that would lead a child to say such things on video ? Or, maybe it's as simple as butting heads / a receiver wanting to play qb. yeah, ok.

0-7, Jimmy.

I can't believe he has been AWOL and just walks in to the last week of practice and demands to be the QB. What the F is he thinking? This isn't backyard football of drawing plays in the dirt.

Kid needs help and quick before something bad happens to him.

So apparently all you gotta do to create an inflammatory article these days is write up your thing then say "a source said".

That's really all it takes.

Not saying I believe it isnt true, but ******, Jennings manned up and said his peace - said what all Vol fan were thinking, albeit in a very offhand way. Got dismissed for it the day before turkey day no less. If you don't got the brass to be named as a source or to name your source, your article looks like nothing more than either a) a click bait article or b) a hit piece to make UT look better about their already struggling public image. Either way, it's probably both.

Until someone with some brass comes forward and confirms it as true, I'll not care what some glorified sports blogger says "his source" says. Yall can call him a thug all you want, but that dude showed more passion than most everyone on our roster and his dismissal came at a very strange time.

If yall wanna take the word of some 2012 graduate from Mizzou, that's up to yall. I prefer to remain indifferent about it since the timing of Jennings dismissal was ... how should we say ... ill-timed?

Lmfao

he'll have some time to think about what he did...gotta believe he'd still like to be a Vol...if he does the new coach will have a decision to make, of course, along with Mr. Currie...we'll see, and

GO VOLS...BEAT VANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean the coaches he is talking about are either gone or will be gone soon. Why complain now? Just keep your mouth shut, take the redshirt, see who the new coaches are and move on. Extremely stupid move even for a kid. Thought his father was a coach, how did he turn out like this?

I guess your generation feels he should’ve just gotten a “timeout.” He had already been given multiple warnings. However, this is the real world, and in the real world criminal, drug induced and disrespectful behavior is not acceptable. Jauan is an adult. He was given requirements to meet that would have allowed his return to the team. He failed to meet those requirements. He embarrassed himself, his family, his teammates, coaches, the fans and my University. He isn’t coming back....ever...

Oh he was promised to play QB he came here saw Dobbs was better balled out at WR was going to burn a medical redshirt to give his all to the vols then sees the other QB's are hurt him being a QB and was promised a shot wasn't given one over hurt QB's . He was lied to and there is a trend here .

"your coaches"

lol

I think you mean "Interim head coach Brady Hoke" and Butch's hooligans. His intent was obvious... bring BETTER coaches to Tennessee.

Jennings made it about the players at Tennessee...asked UTAD to bring in a real coaching staff...and now you turn around make it about his draft stock?

lol again

nice post fade
Well most professional teams don't like it when you act like an immature DA. Jennings acted like an idiot and it but him in the butt. I don't think that necessarily makes him a bad kid or thug but he made a bad decision. You don't cast your university in a bad light and not have some circumstances.

He will go to another school and ball out. All the while we will be stuck with WRs that suck dog turds. Then many will be saying how they wished we had him back.

Sometimes the player brings such bad influence and conflict that it overshadows what he does on the field. You can't have anyone who thinks this is all about the individual. I had a lot of guys I served under in the military that I didn't like but I never sought to undermine their rightful authority over the unit. A cancer or disruption in the locker room can't be allowed to remain and fester. Jennings could have just used his head for something other than a holder for his bandana and realized a new coaching staff was at the front door. A fresh start was at hand. Instead, he went prima donna and mouthed off on social media for the world to see. All he did was show his a$$ and got it canned. Don't care how good a player thinks he is, there's chain of command and respect for authority. As a coach, you never, ever let the tail wag the dog. Hoke did the only thing he could and it was the right thing. Jennings has some physical tools, but no way do I want someone like him setting the tone in my locker room.

Wouldn't be surprised if Jennings has some sort of personality disorder. It would certainly explain why he didn't let himself cool off and handle the situation maturely rather than posting a tirade to instagram, albeit a "private" one.

That being said, given the track record of Butch and his cronies I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they had promised him a shot at QB if he made it back this year. It seems like this staff would promise a player anything to get what they wanted, without any intention of fulfilling their promises.

Jennings should have some form of discipline, but with his only documented trouble before this being a citation for pot possession, I don't think a snap judgement dismissal was the correct action. It seems this administration and staff reacted with the same emotional mindset that Jennings did when he filmed his video. That, to me, is not a good look for the AD, especially since a suspension right before the offseason would allow for emotions to settle, coaches to change, and hopefully reduce the negative attitude that many of our players have currently.

Hyams piece is dangerous. With little to prove his accusations on Jennings character, he's is erring dangerously close to libel. Hyams may have been working on the AD's behalf to mitigate the PR damage, or he may have just been doing his not-so-rare sloppy journalism, either way he's risking his career dragging a student-athlete through the mud without backing up his article with any credibility.

I won't be surprised if Jennings isn't on the team next year. I also won't be surprised if Currie hires a google coach and we continue to fight through mediocrity for another half-decade. This AD has yet to prove to me that they're capable of doing the job well, and after the past two administrations, I'll hold off having blind trust in the AD until they've earned it.

Thought he was a leader and team player. Was he even at one game supporting his teammates? Bye Jennings.

Jimmy reports what we don't like to hear but he doesn't make stuff up and he reports what he knows. He's not one to make stuff up and he sure isn't kissing Curries butt.

If Jennings hadn't been hurt and moved back to QB at the start of the season the Vols beat Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and possibly Mizzou. Butch Jones is still the head coach.

No, the "trend" is people making **** up out of whole cloth.

I see - let's blame the coach. Let's blame the journalist who dares to write about this. What about the parents? What about the friends? What about the player? He is not a child. He is an adult. He is not in high school. Many of his team mates are out there acting like adults.

If he can't handle this - he definitely could not handle the NFL - though he has probably blown that chance.
