The Trump Effect

Those numbers mean nothing to me. Every president has a record breaking stock market. I find it odd to be cheering numbers that Trump is responsible for though. When these numbers actually translate to the average American let me know.
This is a point made that I can respect. You are clear that those numbers mean nothing to you. I appreciate that you will take a position because it is your position. PJ just seems to be more interested in being contrary rather than actually engaging, and I got to the point where it was tiresome. So, I decided to see if he would actually engage. As he has repeatedly shown over our last few exchanges, he won't. He will deflect, re-define, or expect of others what he will not provide himself. It is an exhibition of pomposity that I can do without.

Ample video evidence proves otherwise. How many times did the cameras catch Biden sleeping "on the job". On the beach on vacation doesn't count.

And sadly for Trumpers, polls show Biden was better. OUCH.
If that makes you feel better, good for you. It's pure delusion, but if it helps you sleep at night.

Except I did address it in the post directly above this one you quoted. Like the Epstein files, choosing to ignore it doesn't mean it didn't happen

I think it's safe to say that if you deem year one of Trump 2: Electric Boogaloo an unequivocal success, then you are undoubtedly a ****in' dumbass.

Trumps "success" claims remind me of baseball statistics. Stuff that's a reach often. "On the third Monday of the 4th month of his term Trump had the most successful stock market in the history of 2025".. <-- I made that up.

Also I find any statistical claims coming from our government highly dubious now with the executive branch essentially demanding civil servants be unequivocally subservient and partisan. There is no transparency nor bipartisanship from agency political appointees. Thats a problem.

The tariffs are going to cost the Republicans the midterms. There's no way to put a spin on a chart like this:

In 2024, the United States imported 5.46 million metric tons and exported 3 million metric tons of downstream aluminum products and scrap, resulting in net imports of 2.46 million metric tons. There are currently four primary aluminum smelters operating in the United States that produce 683,500 metric tons, down from America’s historical ranking as the world’s leading producer when 33 sites were in operation producing up to 5 million tons per year

exactly why Trump is trying to change the course of direction..beats the hell out of paying $20 hours for burger flipping.

A lot of these poorly-run companies are using "tariffs" as an excuse to cover up other poor business decisions (i.e. EV expansion). No different than how Target was using "shrink" to cover up its operational issues a couple of years ago. Many times this tariff number doesnt include the portion passed on to customer and includes a lot of creative 'cost accounting"....

Your overall point remains but take these company provided numbers with a grain of salt. Not saying that F isnt impacted but their poor 2025 results was primarily because they misread the market

Statement from Secretary Howard Lutnick:

MASSIVE AMERICA FIRST TRADE WIN: President Trump has approved the first three projects under Japan’s $550 billion investment commitment to the United States as part of our historic U.S.–Japan trade deal.

These projects represent a $36 billion commitment in key sectors of our economy -- power generation, oil and gas, and advanced manufacturing.

This is what strategic trade looks like.

First, in Ohio, together with Japan we will develop the largest natural gas generation facility in history, generating 9.2 gigawatts of power. We will strengthen grid reliability, expand baseload power, and support American manufacturing with affordable energy.

Second, we will build a critically important deepwater crude oil export facility in the Gulf of America. This project is expected to generate $20–30 billion annually in U.S. crude exports, secure export capacity for our refineries, and reinforce America’s position as the world’s leading energy supplier.

Third, we will create synthetic industrial diamond manufacturing capacity in the United States which will onshore production 100 percent of U.S. demand for synthetic diamond grit, a critical input for advanced industrial and technological production. We will no longer rely on foreign supply for this essential material.

Together, these projects are expected to deliver thousands of high-quality American jobs.

Japan is providing the capital. The infrastructure is being built in the United States. The proceeds are structured so Japan earns its return, and America gains strategic assets, expanded industrial capacity, and strengthened energy dominance.

I am grateful to the President for his leadership and to the Government of Japan for their partnership.

The future has never been brighter.

The truth is still out there.

He was arrested for giving Epstein confidential stock trade information.

What a smoking gun! 😂
