And its nothing but a photo op. There will never be a "Trump Class" ship. Can you imagine sending those to two to war? The propulsion system would have some sort of mechanical failure and require both of them to return to dry dock for repairs and never see combat, much like draft dodging Trump.

Like I said in another post if he wants a class of ships named after him let’s rebrand the two now deactivated classes of littoral combat ships.

Weird. Every other government function in the US runs off Q4 ending on Sep 30th as far as I know.

The reported numbers are good. The question is the accuracy.

Think of it at a micro level. GDP in the 4s and inflation in the 2s. Which companies should be benefiting? You'd expect the Home Depots, Costcos, and Targets of the world to be doing well. Those companies have all struggled with their stock price this year. Companies like DG, DLTR, WMT, and FIVE have all done well. Leads me to believe that Wall Street isnt buying the 4.3 GDP at face value....

Wouldn't the bolded be kept updated though? As much money as we pour into DoD I'd hate to think we haven't planned for it since the most recent refurbs, what, 40 years ago?
edit - I guess we have and the analyses don't come up with 'build a dinosaur'.

Yes that’s the primary issue. Yes systems are planned and updated regularly but nobody had “hey let’s build another battleship class!” on their bingo card in ops analysis.
