I agree about Hummell, but you can't be sure about your statement just yet. Purdue returns a couple other players that could be playing somewhere else right now. Either way, that 2 team analysis means very little to the other 6 teams from each conference, hence the round robin.
Ha! I wonder if I think UK will be better than you do.
I probably think Florida will be better than most of the people on this board.
Is Michigan State lots better than the Florida team that beat them last year? Florida is.
Illinois definitely looks better.
Wisconsin always manages to win with extremely good coaching although I hate watching the grind/beat one another/fest that is Wisconsin basketball. They also lose their starting backcourt.
"A whopping 42 of 55 starters return this season and as I scan through the standings, schedules and national scene, I think that as many as eight teams from this 11-team league could find their way into the NCAA Tournament. Further, four teams Michigan State, Purdue, Ohio State and Illinois are legitimate Final Four threats and I feel that is more than any other conference in the country."
From another write up. I agree with his concerns about Michigan State having two players with recent knees scoped and Kalin Lucas trying to come back from an injury you usually do not come all the way back from.
Lighty, Deibler, Buford and J Sullinger? I am not scared of Ohio State. Would love to get them in the tournament.
Take the teams in February (before Bost and Sidney are back, Miss State does not win) and give me
Kentucky v. Michigan State
Tennessee v. Ohio State
Florida v. Purdue
Miss. State v. Illinois
Vandy v. Wisconsin
Ole Miss v. Northwestern
and Georgia v. Penn State
and I take the SEC.
There are enough great OOC matchups that this debate will be alot more fun by January.
