OS, I finished 26:57 chip time.

That was fastest yet!

:good!: Awesome Gnome. It's funny what running in a race will do for you. Did they have a good turn out for the race?

The wife and I ended up running five miles Saturday morning from my parents house through Victor Ashe Park and back. She told me after she finished she wanted the greasest fattiest plate of food we could find. So we went to Waffle House for breakfast. :)

At the risk of sounding totally stupid (and why I'm putting it here instead of any of the QB or practice threads), does anybody think maybe Jones has been waiting to see if he can snap Worley out of the previous mentality the QB's apparently had? You pass or hand off, and if neither of those works you have no play. Peterman had that broken thumb so he missed a lot that first year and that may be been a blessing in disguise. If he doesn't have a play, he tucks the ball and makes one. Dobbs does too.

I don't know. I just can't figure out why we are having such a hard time apparently making a quarterback successful.

If I had to guess I would say lack of experience on all fronts. Worley has the most experience but it's still not that much and what little he does have it's not really leading the team per say. I think what little we got to see at practice on Saturday RF looked like he could lead the offense. That being said I think Worley will start for at least the first three games. After that, if one of the younger guys shows they can get the job done better it may be one of them. :dunno:

I think there was over 500 runners. The results page is down right now.

I have been surprised by my times in these races.

1st race was the Fireball - 30:15
2nd race was the end of July - 27:34 (smaller race, I was 81st out of 197, 4th in age group)
Then this one last Saturday, I think I was 134th overall.

I have not done this type of running in more than 15 years.

It's always nice to see improvement. Makes you feel like you are making progress.

Big let-down story for the second race.

Fireball was a night race, my wife stayed home with the kids. The second race was less than 10 minutes from my house. Wife brought the kids. Just as she was getting ready to take them back home, they started posting the official times.

I just happened to be standing next to where they posted the list. Found my name and see that I am listed as 3rd in my age group. Smaller race I know, but I was surprised. I managed to get her to bring the kids back over, so we are hanging out for the presentation.

Once they start announcing overall finishers, they realize they have a problem. They fix it and slowly continue to announce top 3 in each age group. They finally get to my age group; they announce 3rd place, not me. Second place, not me. First place, not me and the winner is making a big deal about it, being very obnoxious.

Turns out he did not indicate male or female on his entry form. His first name looked and sounded like Vanna, so they thought it was a woman. They found out when they tried to award him 2nd overall Female.

Wow... that is a big let down. They shouldn't have awarded him anything for being a dummy and not putting male or female on the entry form.

Worley was praised so well around here, I was excited to see what he could do last year, such a disappointment. Does he look improved at all from last year?

She just had your son a few weeks ago and you're making her run already? I bet you were running behind her calling out times on teh stopwatch.

If they had made a mistake, I can see making a joke. But when he made the mistake, there was no point in being an a@@ about it.

IMO no not really but all I really have to go on is the O&W game and this practice. The practice I didn't really get to see too much from him so I am going to really hold off judgement until game day comes around.

:eek:lol: She said towards the end of her pregnancy she wanted to run a half marathon and I told her I would run with her. I was figuring she would do one next Feb or March but she found this one in November and that's the one she chose so that's the one we are doing. Her doctor told her if she was feeling ok during running to go ahead and continue unless she had an issues. I gotta say I am proud of her and how she has been doing after wards. She is a trooper for sure.
