Tide bottles have become ad hoc street currency, with a 150-ounce bottle going for either $5 cash or $10 worth of weed or crack cocaine. On certain corners, the detergent has earned a new nickname: “Liquid gold.” The Tide people would never sanction that tag line, of course. But this unlikely black market would not have formed if they weren’t so good at pushing their product.

I was in a Walgreen's about a year ago and kept hearing a ding sound. I asked a lady who worked there what it was. She said in the detergent aisle, the shelf sounds an alarm everytime a container is removed. Said that it was a theft prevention thing.

I didn't think of the reason you posted, just figure it was cause it was expensive. They lock down razor refills at a lot of places now too, which I think is just downright stupid.

When I used to work at Target we would put markers on the razor refills and when they got stolen the assest protection would go to the East Ridge flea market and find them. They busted a few people that way.

Well it looks like our second target at RB Johnathon Ford has decomitted from Vandy. Could be some good news for us. Also as OWH stated looks like we are starting to gain ground on Vonn Bell. Some "experts" have Bell as a UT lean now as opposed to a Bama lean. Reel 'em CBJ.
