hopped up on vicodin so sorry if I ramble :)

went in for surgery this morning. Possibility was that both medial and lateral meniscus were torn but only the medial was so he went ahead and repaired it. That means 6 weeks of no weight bearing at all and fun with crutches. After that it's a pretty long rehab. I didn't expect the repair (actually I knew it was a possibility but ignored it) so that was a blow.

The real kicker is my acl was discovered to be torn. The mri showed it was still hanging on but he said it was done. So I now need another surgery and more rehab. Honestly I'm not expecting to be back for 9-12 more months.

Add in my age and the fact I want to run around with my son when he gets older and I have pretty much accepted retirement from rec sports (at least on the competitive level).

Just really bummed out. Hard to come out of surgery that I expected to be walking home from and be hit with that stuff.
Sorry to hear that, man. That sucks.

I'm giving it the rest of the day to feel sorry for myself and then it's time to get it fixed. At least I know what it takes since this is my 3rd acl repair

Funny thing is my son may end up walking before I do.

I also had a nurse whose son graduated from UT. She noticed my tattoo and we got to talking which was enjoyable

There are about 6 teams in the country better than mine. I can let you know what tournaments we'll be at if you're interested in a wager. That is, unless you're just fos which is probably the most likely scenario

However it's likely I will never play again after this morning's events so I really dgaf about your little digs at me

Geez PJ, so sensitive.

Dropped son's car off for a new top and now the truck (which I was gonna drive to work and the game since son will be driving my car to school ) won't start. I should never have bought those tickets.

Sorry to hear bud.
I've given up serious mma training due to old age (43 tomorrow)
How old are you?

how long were you off your feet? I'm sure I'll be going crazy in a couple days

37. I just can't do what I used to (but think I can)

About a week with each foot. I could only get up to go to the bathroom or move from the bed to the couch. Then I got a little more mobile.

Dude at autozone is all over helping with the truck. He's been out here a good twenty minutes. I'll have to go in at 6am with the kid tomorrow. Oh well, I owe em some time from the funeral anyway. Still gotta go to the grocery store. And therapy will have to.wait til next week.

Not the week I planned. I'm done whining now.
