I think you are making a big mistake.

Damn, c'mon hman the least you could do is explain. Tons of people take breaks during college and many that I've talked to say its the best thing they've ever done. I think Dickens has thought this through thoroughly and he's making the right decision for himself.

Ah... no. General apathy about college. I have absolutely no motivation and feel like I am wasting my parents money. I'm not getting the full benefit of this education and I feel like I need to take some time off and scrape by on my own money and maybe then I'll appreciate what's been given to me.

So I'm looking for full-time work around Knoxville if anyone knows of anything a highschool grad (with some college experience) can do :p

Man I hear ya, my first time around I got out after a year to get my "stuff" together and stop wasting my parents money as well. Granted my full time job was 4 1/2 years in the Air Force but it was probably the best thing I have ever done as far is getting focused, and generally just growing up and having the maturity to handle myself in the real world. (like getting up for class and having an appreciation of educational opportunities in front of me)

If you feel you need too, it might not be the worst thing in the world

just my :twocents: but I have been there, I know how bad it sucks

I agree with you, not the best thing to do, but not the worst. Its hard to get back to school once you leave as well. I finished my associates a few years ago and now am this summer starting to go back to finish the bachelors. Its a bittersweet feeling, going back to finish something good for you, but then working full time, going to school full time, how will I do and manage to still have a good social life?

Good luck to all of you struggling with what the future holds. I wish you the best.

Good morning, all.

grind through it, get your degree, and then make some money. i hated college too, but it's virtually impossible ot make any real money without a college degree unless you start your own business.

Not at all. That was the truth.

Him telling me I am making a mistake has no bearing on the situation. I'l be out of UT next semester no matter what.

I think you get my point... what you tell me has no bearing on whether or not I pay it. It was a good natured jab.

Has anyone stayed up for a long time and had hardcore deja vu. I've been getting it all morning and just got it again with volmanjr and windy. Maybe I should go to sleep...
