There have been plenty of comments (including my own) that have discussed the timing of commits. Picking important dates and spreading them out for momentum have been the most popular.

It's SEC media days week. Are these timed to get us big publicity in B'ham? Is there another one coming tomorrow?

It's also Foundation week.... Do we get a commit each day this week? Mouhon, Booth, Raulerson, etc?

I know i'm stirring the pot, but damn this recruiting season is fun

I believe that we will get another big one on Thursday, and then 1-3 more over the weekend. I also believe these are all staged with a purpose.

Does anyone have a link to a story about "foundation week" explaining what exactly it is?

Not really any story....YET. I think CBJ created it to give UT a "dawg night" like event. He has used the brick by brick statement so much, and said that this first recruiting class and team 117 are the foundation of the return of our beloved program. It already seems like it will become a yearly thing with 2 commits this year already

Just amazing to me how quick kids commit these days compared to back in the day.

Yeah, I know. High school recruiting has changed so much though. Starting with the ranking systems, then there's all of the 7-7 tournaments, add the opening and UA AA game, then add all of the social media 24/7 cycle, and finally the coaches contacting you day in and day out. I would want all of the noise to stop too. But, there are also a lot more de-commits now too. definitely a product of more early commits

Timing is everything in today's lightening fast information society. Our new staff is working hard at building momentum and keeping it going. If you're not excited about the results to date, you're comatose.

Here is a story on cortez mcdowell that breifly talks about foundation week and day. Tennessee Recruiting: Cortez McDowell Will Wear Orange and White - Rocky Top Talk

Here is the bit on it:

This really kicks off "Foundation Week" in style for Tennessee. The week will conclude with Sunday's "Foundation Day" camp -- similar to UGA's Dawg Night and Florida's Friday Night Lights -- and is expected to include a very salty visitor list including many of Tennessee's top targets and current commitments. The Vols expect at least a couple of commitments from this week, and McDowell wasn't one I'd expected may pop, so there could be plenty more good news coming.

Does anyone have a list of recruits that will be at The Foundation?

Bryce Brown ring a bell??

This may be just an assumption but CBJ's messaging might be really hitting home. These kids are buying into the excitement and want to join the family instead of being the center of it. They may still have pressers and get air time but it seems like they want to be part of something bigger than themselves.

If any part of that is correct and can be sustained, I think we're going to have a product on and off the field we can all be very proud of.

I honestly feel like Butch has this all planned out. One person per day during Foundation Week. I would love to be right, because this could be the beginning of an awesome, beautiful tradition at UT.

This could be the timing for the "silent commits" we have to become not so silent. Hopefully it plays out this way.
