You just sorely lack intelligence. It benefits no one but the competition to voluntarily give ourselves the toughest schedule in the SEC. We would still play Georgia and Florida every other year with Kentucky and Vanderbilt on the schedule.
Under my scenario all the top SEC programs would play each other. This is how they should do the 3 permanent rivals:
Tennessee - Alabama, Florida, Georgia
Florida - Georgia, LSU, Tennessee
Georgia - Florida, Auburn, Tennessee
Alabama - Auburn, Tennessee, LSU
LSU - Florida, Alabama, Auburn
Auburn - Alabama, Georgia, LSU
Then have Texas, Oklahoma, and A&M play each other and the rest of the scrub programs can go at it. This way the league schedule is balanced with the top teams playing each other every year and the bottom feeders playing each other. Nobody has that much of a competitive disadvantage in this scenario. This is best for fan enjoyment as we get more good games each year and less bad games.
