It's missing Auburn from the list. I would have voted Vanderbilt, Alabama, Kentucky but Auburn should be on the list. We had a long rivalry which is why we hate the whole state of Alabama makes sense. We played Bama and Auburn.

Agree. Arkansas, Ole Miss, and I know their new to the SEC and most would disagree but Missouri was an interesting rival/series for Tennessee. We still hate them lol.

I think Alabama, UK, and Vandy are the top 3.

I gave this a shot and it turned out slightly differently than any of these that I’ve seen because I took a different approach using Excel and kind of doing an NFL draft-style thing. I quickly discovered that it’s just not going to be perfect. Someone’s either going to get the shaft or there will be quirks. And this happened with Tennessee, for instance, but I don’t think any of us care too much who the 3rd rival is as long as we get Bama and Vandy. Kentucky and Ole Miss really get an awesome draw and Texas A&M gets the shaft. I tried to prioritize parity above all so that no team got 3 really tough opponents and I also think that the Alabama schools are going to really push to play 1 of the Mississippi schools for their 3rd opponent. But this is what I came up with:

Technically, the rivalries are old school and not relevant any more. But I will say that dropping Vandy and Kentucky would make UT a lower tier team. Those for the most part have been two automatic wins traditionally.

The best thing would have been 1 permanent opponent, play 7 teams and next year the other seven. Most fair for everyone. Also Georgia -Florida, Texas- Oklahoma should be made to play home and home

I will be royally pissed if we lose the Third Saturday in October.

Has to be Bama (traditional rival), Vandy (in-state rival), and Kentucky (border rival and most-played opponent).
I say we sever all ties with Kentucky until they acknowledge that we have a barrel and the closest they can get to having it is being bent over it.

I used to tell people I would quit watching if they lost that rivalry, but the truth is they'll play everyone else every other year. It's no longer that big of a deal to me, tho I'd be severely bummed.

LSU Ole Miss is a big deal. That’ll have to be protected. LSU Florida should remain too.

You’d think they’ll protect TSIO, Ga/FL, Ga/Auburn, Tx/ATM, Tx/OK.
Which is why we won’t get UGA. I bet UGA gets UK, SC or maybe even MO. Someone has to get that weird school. More likely UK or SC.

I agree. the three teams we have play d over 100 times are Bama Vandy and UK.

that's the three permanent teams unquestionably.

Florida and Georgia were not even on our radar until 92.
Well said friend. I don't get all the Fla. love! Do you really think they see us as a rivalry? No traditional or historical value as a rivalry. UK, Vandy, & Bama go's back to leather helmets.
