The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

Show me the statistic that cops shoot more white people than black people. And it better be standardized to each population and not just gross numbers.

I wonder why.. what are the numbers/percentages for blacks attacking cops or just homicides in general compared to whites. There's a reason for the paranoia. Let's be real and not so politically correct

The flag and anthem are symbols for something that doesn't exist i.e. the United States, that's all. So, when people see that, they think you don't stand with us. There is some truth to that but it can also be taken too far as well.

At the end of the day, it looks like a bunch of grown men wearing tights acting like the have principles...but the truth is they are frauds. I mean, protesting from the toilet really doesn't do much does it? The should have brought the toilet paper out to throw at the crowd at least.

Nobody with a brain thinks they are protesting veterans or the military . It's that simple.

I've been done with the NFL for years, all of the sports show talking heads as well. If they bring this crap to college football, every Saturday will be free from here on out.

The **** they're not disrespecting the flag!!! Please tell us what "social injustices" these entitled punks are protesting. (insert crickets chirping) Most of these little punks could not get a job at WalMart if they were not blessed with athletic ability and blessed to be born in the GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH. Yes, we have our issues in America. If you don't like them, GET THE F OUT. DELTA IS READY WHEN YOU ARE!!!:salute:

Half of them are likely functionally illiterate.

Players on the teams are now caught between a rock and a hard place. These teams are coached to believe in each teammate, trust in their teammates, and fight for each other. Now they feel an obligation to their teammates to follow the crowd. I feel yesterday caused many players to act even if they disagreed. Gonna be a lot of unforeseen fallout. I am happy to see people try to make changes they believe in, but they need to be just as ready to accept the consequences. I personally don't think the majority would be willing to give up their careers as a consequence. Just how deep are their convictions?

That was Trump. This thing was dead. He threw a gas can on it.

About as deep as a bird bath, which is really the problem of the owners now......they own it, with really no clear path to fix it. :)

All you need now is Trump telling the players, why do your modern day team slave owners need this anti-trust exemption? This dude is so far in their heads its glorious.

Private business can do what they want about such protests, but the president is the last person who should advocate punitive action for people exercising speech. Trump demonstrates little regard for the Constitution or knowledge of how the republic functions.

I'm not sure what he did that was unconstitutional.

He exercised his 1st amendment rights and the players acted.

There was plenty of times Obama did the same, yet the media never blew it out of proportion.

Not the same at all. The Trayvon Martin presser was as close as it got but this is so much dumber.

All this came back because your thin skinned empress saw the article about Steph Curry having no interest in coming to the WH. He got butthurt, reacted on twitter like a child, and voila. You have a massive reaction.

The man lacks any stoicism or restraint, and you idolize him because he has an R next to his name and he isn't
Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton.

I know longer support giving McBride a chance at QB this year. Go ahead and put in your transfer paperwork to University of Safe Space.

At least give the kid a chance to blow a game first before you run him out of town...

But the National Anthem should never be subjugated to overblown social justice issue which is a product of the national media.

Nor should it be used as a propaganda tool to drum up support for what is now considered by many to be a dubious military action in Iraq (Whitney Houston, Super Bowl XXV).

If you truly want social justice, quit attacking Police Officers, quit attacking your fellow minority brethren for trying to get educated (I believe it is called trying to be white), get a job that doesn't involve a criminal activity, and quit whining about crap that happened to your people over 150 years ago. I can almost assure no one is alive today that had any part of it. That type of attitude is what scares away employers away who really do want to hire more minorities.

1. Outside of a few incidents recently, cops are still safe and have it far better than lumberjacks, linemen, deep sea fishermen, miners and iron workers.

2. Valid point about attacking other educated blacks

3. Meh, I used to be in agreement with this 100%. But I've begin to realize that govt and corporations are just as heavily involved in the vices as any collection of boys in the hood. Lotteries and the opioid scourge are prime examples of what I'm talking about. Do two wrongs make a right? No, but lets not just single out kids in the inner city as being the face of vice crimes.

4. I wonder if in the not too distant future, after the last Nazi dies in some villa in South America if you would be able to tell a Jew that no one that is alive today had anything to do with the holocaust?

My experience is that if hire a guy or gal who came here from Africa, they are way more exited about their work, super productive and they are very competitive for promotions too. Can't say the same for a lot of people coming from Philly, Baltimore or St. Louis. They just can't seem to shake that chip on their shoulder that has been instilled in them from their failed leadership. MLK had it right! On the other hand, Farrakhan, Sharpton and J. Jackson just want to pad their egos through chaos and divisiveness.

Well, its not really that hard to understand. Most Africans that come here have the advantage of having an intact nuclear family. I've gone over it several times in here about how liberalism and feminism has destroyed the black family in the last 50 years.

People with this attitude obviously have never served a day in the military. I don't care how you spin it, not showing respect to the symbol of what this country is and what so many have sacrificed... Disrespectful. And I agree, if they want to make change why aren't they starting a foundation AND putting up some of that big contract money they have... What do you think Pat Tillman would have to say about all of this?

You said it... not me.
