The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

Players are giving up endorsement money, anyway; Kaepernick certainly has.
No, he's radioactive so I heard he has a new sponsor.

Well, in all fairness he acknowledged the Nazi's and KKKs free speech right while advocating that a bunch of black men should be fired. It was a new low for Trump.

One group went to a rally to speak; the other went to a stadium supposedly to play football. I suppose you can figure out which was which. People used to be more in tune with keeping to the agenda apparently.

Septic. He takes his weaknesses and assumes all men share them.

Honestly, you just struck me as a papa johns kind of guy. I thought you may be able to better relate and ultimately visualize yourself cramming your gullet with PJ's.

50 Stanley nickles says you'll be squealing like a schoolgirl in anticipation of the Bieber / Brittany half time show.

The ongoing political protests surrounding some players' decision to take a knee during the national anthem didn't help the NFL's "Sunday Night Football" ratings.

Viewership for the primetime game between the Washington Redskins and the Oakland Raiders was down on NBC by 11 percent from the same night one year ago and 9 percent from the previous week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The media outlet reports the game averaged an 11.6 household rating. Fox saw a 16 percent decrease in ratings for the NFL afternoon game, according to Forbes.

However, ratings for CBS were up 4 percent from last year's Week 3 coverage, according to a CBS Sports press release.
Could just be bad matchups too

One engaged in a silent peaceful protest while the other did not. This game is fun!

Any POS that would disrespect our country and our flag has never been handed a folded one. They've never spent months away from their families. They've never been shot at. They don't know jack s*** about sacrifice. F*** will mcbride and I mean that sincerely. I hope he is booed out of the stadium if he ever goes in. If our players start kneeling ill pack my crap up and leave and won't watch another game all season.

Well, yeah, its been going down for some time, quite a few years... its definitely not one thing. However, I seriously doubt new viewers are going to flock now. Obviously its a lose lose situation for the NFL, there is nothing to gain as far as this goes. I believe both the players and owners are assuming their will be strike or lock out at some point, and that was before this nonsense. The problem for the NFL, its not going to end here most probably.

The problem is going to be when all these TV contracts expire... ESPN is already bleeding and its going to get much worse, and that is before this latest stunt. The NBA I believe is in a much worse position, many of the NFL has huge cash overflows from TV contracts.

He can leave the team. This crap won't fly with me. I lost 2 uncle's in WWII. My father served in Korea. I served in Desert Storm. You disrespect this country and this flag...I have no use for you.

Dude. Why are SO MANY of you missing the point? It is not about YOU, YOUR FAMILY, A FLAG, or the MILITARY. Anyone saying otherwise are either stupid, ignorant, brainwashed, or trying to divide. This is about inequality! Go figure that a group of people who were enslaved by this country for 300 years, stripped of basic human rights and systematically oppressed for another 100 years, incarcerated at a higher rate than white Americans, and then called sons of *****es for peacefully protesting the unjust killings of people that look like them...DON'T FEEL JUMP FOR JOY AT THE SOUND OF THAT COUNTRY'S SONG BEING PLAYED.

If you cannot empathize with the pain of the black community historically and currently, then you are a racist, point blank. I'd rather ya'll at least own it, instead of pretending it is about something else. To hell with this president.

By the way, I was raised in a military family, I have lost family members in combat. They fought (and died) for the right to protest. IT. IS. IN. THE. F'N. CONSTITUTION. AND. BILL. OF. RIGHTS.

So I am confused. Are the players willing to suffer? Since their pay is based upon revenue, it sounds like they are...

Nah. They know there are too many spineless living vicariously through others football fans to really put a dent in their paychecks. Now if they had fines against their behavior..kind of like being punished for overzealous celebrations and antics on the field..then I'd agree.

They should strike. That would be the real proof they are men willing to take a stand.

Most of these guys will be out of the league by the time the big paycuts come, they are sacrificing little to nothing... they already have contracts in place.

What they should do is strike, just saying now you have a protest... showing up to collect a paycheck is not a protest. LOL I'm angry, I want change, and please don't forget my check.

So, your defense is a strawman defense in response to what you believe I will offer a strawman defense. Excuse me while I go sit and pee. It is very apparent you care what I think, that is why you responded to me to start with.

Nope, stayed on point this whole time... the point that you are the patron saint of ADD.

Sucks to suck, bro.
