The thinking of any QB considering Tennessee now.

You have a 3 star

You have a 5 star QB from Georgia who set records all over the place benched for a guy that failed else where that our QB whisperer can't fix. Why would any top notch QB after what've put on the field and how we did it want to play for Heupel?

This. Our HC thinks a guy who is in his 4th year as college QB and still overthrows and stares down receivers is his best bet, and posters here think Best QBs in Nation should line up to play for him .. smh

Every time he played better than the starter? Just having a little fun. šŸ‘ŠšŸ¼
He flashed when he played. Many on here complained about his lack of top end speed and inside running. The more things changeā€¦šŸ˜

Who’s in their 4th year? Before last season, Milton threw a total of 11 passes. That’s being on the ROSTER. This is his 2nd year of being an actual QB and that’s the clock I’m using.

Watching the games this weekend, Milton is worse than ANY other SEC i saw playing....This includes Vandy and USCe.

If we can't get better QB play, I don't think ANY SEC game is a sure win. (yes this includes Vandy)
Sorry, I have to disagree about Vandy. I was at the stadium when ETSU drubbed them and both of their QBs looked really bad.....epically bad. Even Milton's consistent airmailed passes looked better.

We hope he’s great. But let’s not put all our eggs in that basket like we did with Salter.
Need at least one more. Would love it to be a transfer Who’s already been successful somewhere.
If your Salter, you have to be pi$$ed at yourself....geez, with where we are now..............but at 18, he likely hasn't put his actions and his consequences together yet.

We shouldn't have any problems recruiting QBs and skill position players with this offense. Just gotta win as many as we can this year and keep improving our talent each year. It's going to be a slow climb initially

Why ? The two years he was back up at Michigan don't count ? He didn't practice ? He was not learning ?

Are you suggesting he was just sitting on his donk those four years ROSTERED not being coached or developed?

Coaching style is a major component Athletic Directors should take into consideration when hiring a head coach. I'm sure Danny White expected CJH to continue with his offensive system when coming to UT. That system was successful without the dual-threat QB. I hope AD White will bring questions on QB choice up when speaking to CJH. After watching the documentary 100 Years of Volunteers, I was amazed how many times the AD would step in and "kindly suggest changes." If this keeps moving towards the train wreck we all envision in our near future, I hope AD White reminds CJH of what got him hired in the first place. Form what I understand, Bob Woodruff would make his thoughts pretty clear.
And Bob Woodruff is what led to our demise in the early 70’s with his poor decisions and interventions.

Salter would not be smart enough to be pissed at himself. Start over.

Unfortunately we have openings at multiple positions on both sides of the ball…yes, we need a QB with touch and field vision but we also need some offensive linemen who can block without holding and some defensive linemen who can put pressure on the passer.
An accurate QB who sees the field and reads the D would make us a much better team, but we need more talent all across the field before we can be competitive with good teams.

A great high school or transfer QB should NOW seriously consider coming to UT.
We now have an offensive minded Head Coach who was a successful QB himself and who plays an exciting brand of offense.
We Vol fans love and worship our successful QBs in Knoxville. How many things are named after or for Peyton?
We have great support and facilities and play in the best conference.
Heupel will get us a great off line and wide receiver corps for our QBs To work with.

So, what excites me about our QB situation is not our current QB room.
Its the guys that we will have in it in the future.
I'm willing to give Heupel some time, but the early results don't show an amazing ability to coach-up QB's. Milton is flat-out atrocious.

Is ā€œsitting on his donkā€ the same thing as throwing passes in a game? Then no. You a MENTAL REP type fella?

Why ? The two years he was back up at Michigan don't count ? He didn't practice ? He was not learning ?
PRACTICE huh? And the first year he redshirted…how many PRACTICE reps do they get? How many does any non-starter receive? All that’s immaterial. The issue we’re batting back and forth over with Milton is not his knowledge of the scheme…it’s his deep throwing accuracy. That gets developed in GAME action. I’m no Milton apologist. Like Heupel stated, it’s got to kick in sooner than soon. But selling this line that he’s in his fourth year of EXPERIENCE is plopping bull**** in front of me and calling it a Little Debbie cake.
