Thanks, Coach. Sad that it had to end, but it was time. I'll always remember you as a great Tennessee coach and a loyal Volunteer to the end. You gave it your all, and (in the end) made the right decision for the program. Don't be a stranger.

There are so many rude and ungreatful people. People calling Coach Fulmer names is pretty classless. Coach Fulmer took our program to another level after Majors. I think it was time for a change too, but can't we all just honor him and let this thing be handled with class. Thanks, Coach Fulmer for many more great seasons than bad ones. You will always be a Tennessee Vol Coach.

What you need to realize is that some people STILL want to prove that hate Fulmer, now that he's finally gone. It makes them feel special to try to stand out as Fulmer haters as if it even matters anymore.

Even those of us who wanted him gone, but are thankful for what he brought are STILL, for some reason, being called "Fulmerites". lol

I don't think "class" is the word you're looking for, I think it's "stupidity".

I agree that it is unfortunately time for a change, but I am glad to see a thread like this. Coach Fulmer gave his heart and soul to UT and experienced many more successes than he did failures.

I wish him the best of luck and hope to see him coaching again soon. And I hope the boys can pull out a few victories to end this season and let him ride out of town on a high note.

Remember the Positives of the Fulmer Era

Great memories, and it says a lot that TN was able to hold on to a top 5 winningest coach too! Great job, and I wish him luck and wins with his new team if he decides to continue. There will be a blood bath to recruit him!:hi:

Yes us true vol fans that do care about winning, thank you Fulmer for all the memories. You made the right choice and we appreciate EVERYTHING you've done for the Vols. All good things must come to an end, too bad it came down to what it did.

Thanks CPF for giving this program your heart and soul and for being arguably one of the best ever to hold the UT coaching position. Most of all thank you for the 1998 NC! I was there and will never forget it. I had the time of my life. You have everything to be proud of and nothing to be ashamed of. Even the best CEO's in the business world are only around for a season. I really hope you are retained in the AD. SOLID ORANGE!

Lets see....

Thanks for the wins over Ga and Fla in '92 with Shuler, and the bowl win over BC. Great games.

Thanks for '93 offensive juggernaut with Stewart Hayden Garner running and Shuler passing to Fleming and Faulkner.

'94 starting the road to the NC with Manning and Kent. Another bowl beatdown over VT.

'95 was great, could have been in the NC game except for the bad 2nd half in Gaineville. Started the 1st of a string of wins over Bama. And another bowl win over Ohio State.

'96 was good, Memphis and Fla were terrible games but another win over Bama and another bowl win.

'97 SEC Champs! Woot!

'98, cant remember this one, just seemed like a dream. Thanks Al, Tee and all you guys!.....:dance2:

'99 letdown expecting big things. But the Bama string goes to 5 in a row.

'00 transition to a new team. Should have won the Fl game and I still think Parker got his foot down in the end zone which would have won the LSU game. Another bowl game clunker.

'01 what a season & the last really good TN team, we should have been playing Miami in Pasadena. Michigan beatdown. Only team ever to win in Gainsville, in South Bend, In Tuscaloosa, and beat Michigan:good!:

'02 Bama streak ends at 7, bowl game dissapointment.

'03 4th & 19? Hail Mary? Win at Miami!

'04 Miracle win vs. Fla and big win at Athens. Texas A&M beatdown in the Cotton Bowl

'05 LSU comeback win :clapping: Beginning of the end

'06 Nice bounceback year with Cal beatdown

'07 SEC East champs after a weird season. Nice bowl win.

Thanks Coach for all these memories.
