The "Thank You" Fulmer thread...

I knew this day was coming early on in the season. It's a sad day for the University of Tennessee and the Vols fans. Coach Fulmer put his heart and soul into the program both as a plaer and a coach and for that I will be forever greatful. He ran a clean program and was a great mentor to many.

I don't think you could fine a better person as Phil Fulmer. He will be missed a great deal, but I believe he had done all he could for the program. Really a sad day for us all. Good luck coach and thanks for what you gave to The University of Tennessee and its fans nation wide.

I hope the wounds heal and you continue to be a VOL from now on. You will always be one to me.

Thanks Coach Fulmer for all you have done for our program and the University. Enjoy retirement and spending time with your kids and grandkids. I look forward to seeing you on the 50 yard line at halftime in the years to come to celebrate your accomplishments. All the best!

Class, Class, Class

Everything Fulmer has done was with class and I just don't think anyone will be able to find someone whose that respectful to everyone involved for such a long period of time.

Thank you Phil for all you have done,
But it's time for the Vols to move on.
You did your best and were sometimes GREAT,
Thanks most of all for '98.

Now that being said, I now shout for joy,
But we need some new blood to coach our boys!
Spurrier would be nice or maybe Cowher,
A "spead offense" with running power!

Though they are now 3 and 6, and may end up worse,
I'm glad we have shed the Phil Fulmer curse.
I have visions of greatness as I sit here and loll,
For my blood runneth orange and THANK GOD I'm still A TN VOL!!
