Agreed. I have been one of his biggest critics aver the past 5 years, but it is time to put away the knives. When the entire body of work is considered, Fulmer had a very good run and should be appreciated.

Coach you were good to my son and myself on several different occasions . You are tennessee football. You served with class and was someone i would of wanted to coach my son . Good luck in the future. Go vols!

He has been a great coach, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.

We haven't been all we are capable of the past few years and i think it's time for a change.

Thanks Fulmer for giving us some great seasons at UT!

The king is dead. Long live the King. Its a sad and glorious day. I hope the team has the capability to send him out with six wins and a bowl win, but I fear it doesn't.

it is a bittersweet feeling. it is like any long term relationship turned sour. it's what is best for both parties, but it is still hard to do. i am saddened that we are here at this point. I hope nothing but great things for CPF. he has done us proud for years. this was needed, but not enjoyed.

Thank you Coach, your the only 1 I can remember seeing on the sidelines...Thanks 4 98, the great players you signed, the entire 90s.... Owning the majority of the SEC besides Florida, and truly "giving your all for tennessee... Its time to move on, but thanks CPF

Thanks for everything Fulmer! I thought Fulmer replacing Majors was a good idea. I hope this move is a good one too.

Phil has been with us through both the tough times and the great times. He has coached with nothing but class and has done a lot for this university.

You know you are a legend when everyone calls you "Coach" Fulmer. You bought us a championship, in one of the best coaching jobs I have seen, and we all thank you for that! You will always be remembered as one of the best football coaches here at the University of Tennessee, and you have given us memories that will last a lifetime!

Coach Fulmer is the only head coach I have known here at UT, so it is definately a sad day for me, but I also realize that we need to head in a different direction after watching this eam for the last few years. I also thank Coach for stepping down in a respectable way, and he deserves a very big goodbye cheer at the UK game!
